Hey,

I'm not very good at flash and all my flashes would be insulting to call "a good use of my time." I was wondering if anyone wanted to create a flash movie or game with me. I can not program and I am and okay artist. The reason why I'm looking for someone to make something with is considering I've never made anything before I think it would be a smart to do something with a partner...someone with at least some flash expierence. I'm not asking for like an amazing Animator for a partner and I won't judge you if you're not "the best" because then I would be a hipocrite. I open to any ideas. I've tried join collabs but considering I don't have any flash expierence no one really wants me in there collabs, so here i find my self.

Thanks :D

I've used flash for 7 years now. I love teaching people. I don't care how good you are as long as you try to get better.

If you're interested, post back here, try my AIM (evilagram), do whatever.

Thanks for the IM conversation, as I mentioned, it would probably be best to work on a movie before a game, and before that to practice and get a good idea what you're doing in the first place.

As for your animation. It was in MOV format. When working with flash, generally you want to export to SWF format. SWF is flash's native format. SWF files can be hosted on flash websites. SWF files can contain actionscript, which is the coding language that flash uses.

As for the animation itself. It was simplistic and had a very experimental quality to it. You're clearly still messing around with the program and trying out all the features you can. I sent you the survival kit, and honestly you should read it sequentially because all that fluff at the beginning is important too. One section you should definitely read is the explanation of timing and spacing (pg 42-46), before anything else. As a remedy to your particular problem, I'd recommend reading into the section on extremes and breakdowns (pg 54-57). The idea when the gun relaxes back down into position is to move it the same way the pendulum moves in the example, starting out slow, speeding up, then slow again. For the actual shot, chop out the first half of the easing, make it go fast, with wide spacing, then ease into slow, with short spacing.

I may or may not end up animating an example for you at some point or another.
