You are literally saying that because Zamus is the common definition of attractive, that no matter what she did it would be fan service and she is being exploited. So all "hot" women are being exploited because they are attractive? You sound like a guy that's trying to be a feminist, and is, in fact simply insulting women by saying attractive women shouldn't exist in media. Hello, equal representation called, it thinks you're being chauvinistic. The problem isn't the woman in this situation, it's the people that act like the most important thing she is is eye candy (that includes you).

Samus is a feminine character. This is canon. She showed these tendencies in Metroid Prime, she showed them in Super Metroid, she showed them in Fusion and Zero Mission. She's not just a blank emotionless slate with breasts, she's one of the most influential women in the history of video games. But when she acknowledges her body, the way many other actual people would, suddenly that's sexist. And don't play the "men designed her" card, because women are highly involved in this game as well; remember that whole thing about how a woman modeled Samus' two-piece? That was pointed out specifically so you people wouldn't call sexism.

Nobody's taking advantage of your sexuality here. I'm not even sure you know what taking advantage is, because you called Lucina, a woman who wears full body armor, a fanservice character. Because you saw a picture of a trophy with the camera focused on her butt. Everyone's got a butt, the camera does not take booty shots by default. If the game's anything like Kid Icarus Uprising, you won't even be able to look up dresses; how much less fanservice do you need?

You never intended on buying the game in the first place, admit it. And that's why the game's not marketed towards you. It's marketed towards people who see Zero Suit Samus as a celebration of Nintendo's history, same as the rest of the cast, and then never play as her at all because Toon Link is still the highest tier character.

Except that's not what I'm saying at all.

Zelda is also the common definition of attractive, and so is Peach. You could say that there exist no flagship female legacy characters that aren't generically attractive, because being unattractive is unattractive. However, Zelda and Peach are dressed modestly, fittingly because they are princesses, but whatever, they're still dressed modestly. This shows that they don't have to be scantily clad in order to be likable playable characters.
