I definitely agree with that one. But if you press shield on time, you will get temporary invincibility, and that should break the combo, bringing Marth back to the ground.

So I was messing around with Marth on the stages and I found out that Marth's planking potential on Lunar Core is crazy. His up special can cut through the main stage, as well as his uair. He also has enough time to do any aerial (after jumping) and make it back to a ledge. There are lots of ledges so he can always get a jump back and his upspec is pretty fast. Not that there aren't other characters that could do this, but Marth has it really easy.

For those who prefer to use this information differently, it means you can easily perform combat under the stage with Marth, the platforms aren't very long so you can engage an opponent very easily underneath the stage.

Idk it seems it would be really hard for marth to lose since you outrange everything kirby can throw out except maybe clinking with the bair. It's too early to call matchups honestly. Maybe the kirby was just better

Eh, you're right about him not losing to Kirby.
Marth basically outranges, out kills, and out combo's him, his juggles are pretty bad for the gumdrop too.

Not to mention Marth tech chases Kirby all day with down throw. :P

def not true and wasn't the case at the tournament

I have tried the Ken Combo many times, and only succeded once. Is there any strategy to getting the dair spike every time, or do you just need perfect spacing?

I'm less worried about hitting the sweetspot and more worried about not having enough hitstun from the fair to actually land a sweetspot dair.

Landing the sweetspot takes practice, and I occasionally pull of the Ken combo but I find I sometimes just ignore it for an easier kill. The back hit box of the dair is much easier to his with IMO. TSON said that they use rectangular hitboxes so that is probably the real reason the sweetspot is hard to hit. We aren't used to the geometry.

SoldierSunday, your signiture. :xd:

With the way the ledges work in 0.9b, Marth is pretty good on them.

Are you having more problems landing the hits, or getting the full move off? If its the former, don't worry because it takes on point DI/SDI to get out. It's hard to land the third/fourth moves in the sequence on CPU's and they might be hard to get on humans. However, the first hit is the best hit because it combos right into Marth's tilts.

If its the latter, then you don't need the later hits as I have stated, but if you want to just work on the timing. Slow down and speed up, there are windows of opportunity to delay your timing. You can do a slow 2nd/3rd hits but make the 4th come out really fast compared to them if you want. The move is very flexible, and it isn't hard once you get the hang of it. A word of caution though, if you wait to long between hits you might do the wrong move.

The third hit of his "up" Dancing Blade [Side-Side-Up-Side] meteor smashes. I'm not sure whether this was accidentally swapped or purposefully swapped with the downward equivalent, but it's another meteor

Has Marth's uair been always this strong in the official Smash games? It can kill a lightweight at something like 80% when tipped.
