I agree (on Plug listenalongs and on album a day -- I'm not hugely feeling it myself right now, but I wanted to see how everybody else felt first))

Maybe we could do one every week for a while?

if we did end up doing it again with the chart/calendar and everything i know id probably just be doing a few a week and talking about them at the end of the week (most likely)

i think it'd be fun, but idk. i'd be willing to make another template and everything

if we do weekly album listen alongs, would it be via plug.dj? or would it be more we all do it on our own throughout the week and then we post about it? i feel like the plug.dj real time listen alongs would be awesome but plug.dj is occasionally unreliable and i know getting everybody in at a specific time each week would probably be hard

thoughts?

Not an album a day lol

I am personally too damn busy for most suggestions but maybe a weekly album on plug I could get behind

Would definitely have to be on the weekends though

i got too much to commit to pull anything like that off, an album a week is the best i can do and not a live thing either

we could host real time listenalongs on plug.dj whenever we can get enough people in at the same time, and during weeks we can't everyone can just listen to our designated album on their own time

switch it up a bit so it doesn't get too stale

here's my proposal:

first off, i'm assuming we'll mostly have to choose from canon approved classics, things most people are already familiar with, if only in name. that way we don't have people coming in and suggesting some obscure 3 hour dark ambient album they discovered on bandcamp

so every week, whoever organizes this will roll a random number between 1 and 100 here: https://www.random.org/
then they'll choose whatever corresponding release is on this page: https://rateyourmusic.com/customchart as our Album of the Week

i don't think we'll have enough users involved for a poll to really carry any weight so this is the next best option in my opinion. simple and straight to the point

Big fan of that idea generally, although it is quite impersonal. We could go with that at first but I'd kinda like a way to put more MG-esque albums in there (I think we generally like Sufjan, maybe Pendulum or even Hybrid Theory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). It'd have to be albums we agree on though, because you're right about the dark ambient bandcamp thing

As far as what time the Plugs would be done, when is good for you guys? I'm thinking late (est) sometime on Saturday

suggesting opeth's watershed as the first album
