Hope there's another cool intro video like Anime Palutena and RBY for Pac Man.

Those have honestly been some of the coolest parts of the new reveals.

I really don't think that's the case. I think this is a solution to a simple problem - Sakurai has always revealed characters during Directs, but now there are more characters left to reveal than Nintendo has Directs planned before launch.

We've been getting one every two months for a while now, so if we just say there's gonna be a Direct in August, this just means there are two characters left to show (at least) but only one Direct left. So, he did something a little more interesting.

Besides, I think we're done with BIG characters, really. Mega Man and Pac-Man are already revealed, you know? Miis too.



As for Shulk, if he's in, I'm really excited to see how they handle him. I feel like Sakurai would try to work the essence of Xenoblade into his moveset, which has me thinking about a couple of factors. For one, Xenoblade is hugely based around the relationships between the characters - they grow closer as they fight together, and this allows them to become visibly stronger as they can borrow each other's skills depending on how close they are. Characters in Smash don't usually "summon" other characters from their series, but Shulk would be the perfect opportunity to try that kind of moveset.

And secondly, probably his most important ability in the game is the ability to see the future. In the game, that's represented by time freezing and showing you an attack that an enemy's about to launch, including how long until they launch it, who they're targeting etc. It then gives you a lot of defensive options to counter the move. I wonder if Sakurai will be able to work that in at all? If anyone could, it's him. Seems tough for a multiplayer game, but hey. Maybe it could be his final smash.

I'm just thinking out loud though. Excited for Monday, regardless of who it is.

Also if it's Shulk the perfect trailer music would be the track that plays when you attack a boss monster, which I've affectionately been calling "You f*** Up"
