Background:
This comic got posted on /r/smashbros a week or so ago, and I was able to find the source back then as a result. These are two pages from a short webcomic about one boy going to what is essentially an all girls school. Kid gets annoyed having to deal with only girls, and looks for a club with other guys. The catch is that the boy joins a "Bro Club" thinking he'll find more dudes to hang with, but finds out that the "bros" are all girls who behave like stereotypical brodudes. They start to hang out, and somebody suggests that they play Smash Bros. What ensues is the events shown in the above images, from the last pages of the comic.

Smash Bros. Melee: Well received, advanced mechanics to movement and technique, no tripping.
Smash Bros. Brawl: Does away with most of that, Includes random tripping mechanic.

Joke:
The "bro" that pushes the kid is alluding to the random tripping mechanic. Somebody knocked you down, you say? I didn't see anybody do anything, nobody else saw me do anything. Nobody hit you. Then I guess it was just the random trip mechanic that screwed you over as you were trying to move.

Of course, she pushed him, but used it to make her point clear that it's a friggin' annoying, and arguably unfair element of Brawl, which is why they play Melee instead.

Overall, Brawl was more citically acclaimed than Melee, not competitively, but more in general.
