Sheath is the word you're looking for.
Either way I suggest you remove it completely until the end sprite. I find it much easier to draw or sprite someone by drawing the underlying details first, then adding objects on top. That way when you do have to draw the important underlying details it doesn't turn into a guessing game.

Why yes, yes it has!

Very fine idea. I think I'll do just that.

A bit late here, but it's kind of hard for me to differentiate the eye position of your Luke sprite.

Just something I noticed, if it hadn't been already mentioned.
Nice to see you around, btw.

Ah yes, that is something that does appear to need correcting.

Hey look, a sprite. This sprite is for a game me and my friends are working on. I won't be posting much about it, but I'd just like to share some progress occasionally. I already plan on making the leg ~2 pixels thicker.

Heads a bit blocky, but nice otherwise.

Side note, why am I having trouble seeing pictures? I had to quote and preview this to actually see the picture...

I don't know whats up with the pictires, that's odd.

I'll try working on the head then.

I didn't know who this character was so I had to google...

I have a few suggestions,

1. I feel like her bangs are sorta bleeding into her face, making it hard to see it.

2. In the pictures I've seen, her head is pretty round.. Like the person above me said, it's a little blocky atm, and I feel like it just needs to be more circular and redone a bit. This may give you room to maybe bring her eyes down slightly and free up some room in the face. I understand there are limitations to the detail a sprite this size can contain, but it would be nice to bring her character a little more to life.

3. Lastly, I suck at posing and crap, but is it just me or is her left leg (our right) a little awkward?

I hope this helps you in some way. Good luck! :)
