It doesn't seem like the government will do much to create jobs, since the debts are quite high.

They'll certainly say they're doing something, however if Obama doesn't get some tax increases here soon he risks loosing the support of his liberal base (Which would be REALLY bad, considering the Conservatives and Independents are mostly against him at this point.)

Aw well, the federal top income tax is rather low in the US, though it would be rather nasty for rich people living in Hawaii. I don't see much harm in raising it a little, but he could lose quite some support from conservative Democrats if he goes too Keynesian.
