If you're new, 135, welcome to the boards! It's a pretty awesome game, so I hope you have fun discussing it!

The brick is useful for anti-air, beating certain recoveries like DK's and Captain Falcon's, and spamming against people who have no idea how to beat it. :). If it could be charged, it would be way cooler than the main one, but as the main one is more versatile, I do have to say that it is probably the best overall. However, after I land a near-kill move, I sometimes switch to Super Arm if I think it would give me an edge in finishing them off.

Why does he use a low quality voice from powered up when jumping ? I don't think it really fits to that megaman and he doesn't use it for anything other than jumping, it would be way better if he didn't have a voice.

My only issue with Mega Man is how sluggish he feels. Most of his attacks have quite a bit of start up lag and it's hard to time combos with him. That might be just due to my lack of experience with him, but playing random characters don't feel the same way. That being said, a lot of his attacks are very potent and have quite the potential. I've mostly only played as Bomberman, but I'm going to try mastering Mega Man next.

Kinda late to the party but anyway.

Some people will kill me for saying that, but after playing Smash 3DS, i really just can't get into SSF2 version of Mega Man... I just find him so "generic" in contrast, because of how unique he feels in the 3DS version. I've never thought about that, but after playing his "official" version, i feel like SSF2 it's more or less another fighter on the roster, rather than something pretty sweet and unique.

I'm not saying that the devs need to re-make the character, because there are probably lots of people who prefer this one over the 3DS version, but for me it just feels kinda... empty now.

I love Mega Man, but now it just seems "meh" at best.

(Not hating anything or insulting, just giving my opinion.)

Mega Man has a couple unique traits: a neutral special with many different configurations, a Cypher-like recovery that has good distance and control but can be lost, a projectile uair that gives him a unique juggling game, and an interesting normal kit. I like him in this game: he has a good balance between zoning play and close-range fighting, and he supports different playstyles. I generally play a fairly grounded and close-range Mega Man, but I've seen really campy Mega Mans and aerial Mega Mans.

The only megaman the consistantly beats me only uses megabuster and ftilt, with occasional dash attack.

I have no idea why i keep losing to that but I do.

I say you just pick Megaman, use Super Arm, and reflect all of his Mega Buster shots :)

Hi, I'm new and just signed up for an account on the forums, but i have been a spectator of the forums for years (since v0.6). But the reason I finally made an account is because how bad Megamans recovery truly is. I mean he is, without a doubt, the easiest person to edge guard and his recovery isn't even that good (in distance or height or control-ability) and has little to no edge guarding abilities himself.

Nah, with CF, d-spec then u-spec is pretty reliable move and even if he does get hit at least it's not a death sentence like MM. Plus MM has no "get-back-to-ground" game ( and yes I did make that word up lol) so either someone's gonna go a Liam Neeson on your behind and get ya in the air or have something waiting for u back on the ground that u can't do jack&#*¥ about

He has options coming down, along with your standard air dodge you can stall with dair and down-spec
Not to mention that you can attack out of up b at any time with any of your normals, and how fast up b comes out.
Megaman is far from helpless while recovering with all of his mixups, something which captain falcon lacks with his insane linear recovery.

Not to say megaman's recovery is amazing, marth's dtilt completely rapes him for instance.

As a competent MM player I us both d-spec to interrupt opponents combos and d-air to ease myself down until I reach a comfortable height above the ground to counter with f-air or n-air, but even with all of that there are many character that'll eat that and get to u easy. Kirby (easy), Samus (super easy), Marth (crazy easy), Yoshi (insanely easy),Goku (unbelievably easy), Zelda (one less stock for you) and note that those people aren't even the super cheap/broken characters. And plus sometimes you have no choice but to come from underneath the edge and attacking is not an option.

P.s. Falcon kick is life itself when recovering with CF
