I read through all the posts and didn't find an indication that each post must contain a compliment. The part where is says to compliment the person above you isn't the the rules part of the first post.

Instead of a compliment I have an observation about this thread. People could post random insincere compliments here just because they want to get complimented. According to the rules you could post something that doesn't even have a compliment in it in hopes to get complimented. So far this is the first post that doesn't compliment the person above (the first post is excluded since it doesn't have another post above it) it so I guess the stuff mentioned in the previous sentence doesn't matter. This may not be a problem since the way this thread has been going people have always been giving a compliment before they get one and maybe it doesn't matter at all if people compliment just to get complimented and just wrote a random compliment they don't mean. I'm just observing that peoples intentions when posting a compliment could be selfish and probably not in the intended spirit of this thread. Note I'm not accusing people previous people of complimenting other people with a selfish intent. Still, I thought it was interesting to bring up how that could be people's intentions in the previous and future posts.

I don't think the next person who posts should feel any obligation whatsoever to compliment me because I haven't complimented anyone in this post. If this post messed up the flow of things oh well. Complimenting the person who posted before this one and skipping this post would the correct way to continue on with how it was going before this post in my opinion. Unless of course someone people want to discuss my theory.
