there's more people being offended over people being offended than people who were offended in the first place

if you're actually complaining that they removed a single feather because it's a reference to a harmful racial stereotype, step back and start asking yourself why

and besides, they already made this edit in one of the Game & Watch Gallery games. this actually makes the character an even more accurate representation

I think it's actually pretty cool that Nintendo stepped in so quickly and adjusted the animation. Given the original game I can understand why it kind of irked people.

I'm in the "don't be offended you frickin snowflakes" camp, but adjusting the animation is honestly the right move here. It changes nothing about the gameplay, it's something that only the offended people will notice, and they even changed it for the G+W gallery so it's still kinda true to its roots.

oh s*** I didn't realize you're a native American

Because I'm sure you're aware that your opinion on this would be totally worthless otherwise

But most of the people getting offended over this are white people, yet their opinion matters enough that the feather should be removed?

And yes, my opinion on this matter is worthless, but does that mean I am morally obligated to not share it?

Yes

It's nice to see that you're learning

Does this mean that every time I have an opinion on anything, I have to prove that my opinion isn't worthless before sharing it?

Because opinions in general are, by default, worthless.

I could see an argument of "I shouldn't have shared that opinion because it's insensitive to Native Americans" or "I shouldn't have shared that opinion because it re-opened a controversial topic that people had already moved on from" but not "I shouldn't have shared that opinion because it's worthless"

This might seem like a no-brainer but we had better be able to unlock other characters in WoL. Playing through the entire freaking story as Kirby would suck. (No pun intended)

You can actually see characters other than Kirby moving around on the WoL worldmap in the gameplay part of the trailer.

Think about why that opinion is worthless.

It's not because of what you're saying, it's because of who you are.

You, a non-Native American, do not have the right to tell people not to get offended by it.

That's it. It's not any broader than that.

Also, if you genuinely believe that "opinions in general are, by default, worthless", then that's pretty sad. I hope you learn to find meaning the the beliefs of yourself and others one day.

And that's where you're wrong kiddo. It's ridiculous, and racist, to judge an opinion on the skin color of the person expressing it.

Yes, I do have the right to tell people not to be offended, especially if those offended aren't even Native American themselves.
You similarly have the right to tell me to shut up.

Or, to put it another way: Imagine if I made the ridiculous and outlandish claim that cis people are oppressed. Do you, a trans person, have the right to call me out on my BS? Of course you do!

I guess I think opinions, like almost everything else, do not have intrinsic worth, but are worth different things to different people. An opinion is worthless unless and until someone thinks otherwise.

it's not really

somebody's race is going to effect their experiences and therefore their thoughts

a Native American saying "hey this is offensive" has more worth than a white person going "lol stop getting offended you triggered snowflake" when it comes to an issue like this

maybe "right" was the wrong term because it's going to result in the usual dumb as f*** "BUT MY FREEZE PEACH" s***

you do have the right i guess. it just makes you an idiot.

also crazy idea: maybe other white people are offended because native americans find it offensive? it's this amazing thing called "support", and

yeah whatever never mind this is dumb

you even f*** said "i'm find with them removing this" but still had to complain about people finding things offensive for some reason

the internet in general would be a better place if people didn't need to tell people what they think about everything
