Hey guys, based on the Nintendo Power review, Sonic Colors might be that return to the series' roots everyone was waiting for. Fingers crossed.

Gameplay video, BTW.

The last time the series returned to it's root, we got Sonic 4. It was not bad, but just 'Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 HD' rather then a game on it's own. Though, with the addition of the whisps these game looks more original, if anything it might be a little hard to control.

I`m not saying I would be against his hoice changing for some reason, but I simply wouldn`t want to hear that specific voice too often, not at all.

Not to be harsh,but did you even know that video was an older Sonic Colors gameplay video(the more newer gameplay videos does not have the announcer shout "COLOR!".)?

Here's a little more recent one. Not a fan of the announcer's voice, but that gameplay looks pretty sexy. And them music's top-notch, IMO.

I`m not all that familiarised with video games terms.

What does it mean to break the 4th wall?

The 4th wall is the barrier between the preformance and the audience. Breaking the 4th wall is basically either having the performer communicate directly to the audience in some way or mention the fact the his/her performance isn't real.

For example, if Mario were to say "This is all just a video game!" in a Mario game he would be breaking the 4th wall.
If Sonic were to to notice the player's existance and speak directly to him/her (Such as in that video.) he would be breaking the 4th wall.

Though it can also be done through other methods, its basically anything that would remind you that none of what you are seeing is real.

'Breaking the 4th wall' is not just a video game term, but rather a term used for any sort of performance in general, such as movies, television series, cartoons, radio shows, stage performances, I suppose it can even happen in a book. Breaking the 4th wall is often used as a form of comedy, (Though in MGS... I think it was, it was also cleverly used to freak people out. That has also been done in other games.) though it is not always appreciated as it will destory the immersion of the game for atleast that moment and remind you that none of it is real.
