You're the second one on the list. Unless you want to be listed under a different name.

I think I sent him a link to this:
http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/

It's pretty inexpensive, but you probably won't get the type of sound you want with it. So there's also software like this that's a bit pricey but will improve the quality of your work dramatically:

http://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/
http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/what.html
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/acidsoftware

These are the most popular software I know of. I've used both FL Studio and Reason, and find Reason the best in my opinion. But LOTS of people love FL Studio so it's really just a matter of personal preference. I tried Sony Acid once too but I really didn't like it... But it is popular amongst some people.

Good choice, that's a must-have for people producing on Macs

Hm. Greg, can you send some kind of notepad or printmusic file that could show us all of the notes? Otherwise, I'm going to have to rewrite the melody by ear, which I'm not very good at...

Looks cool, I'll join.

EDIT: I was wondering if we could mod the mp3 a small bit? (Like higher lower notes) Cause like the contest you joined before you kinda modified (and so did others) the song file a bit higher/lower.

lol, I really never post things here but this contest really caught my eye and I would like to enter.
It would be helpful if the actual notes and rhythms were written out that way I wouldn't have to transcribe the melody by ear as I will be composing on Finale.

Bah, I'm stuck on making a good sounding end to the notes given, IMO, the end doesn't work so well

So you cannot import the MIDI? It would be nice to see you guys figure a way around this on your own, but I will help you out this one time:

Cool.

And yes you can mod the MP3 if you choose to use the MP3 itself, though I'd prefer you to import the MIDI or notate by scratch so you can get your own sound for it and not be limited to piano.

If you're using the full version of Finale just import the MIDI. If not I provided a link to another program in my first post that you can import MIDIs with.

Take your time, if it doesn't work out then use the original melody elsewhere so you can modify that part more.

I'll attempt it, no guarentees I'll submit a finished piece though.

EDIT: Does the melody actually have to be on a piano?
