With the recent addition of Kiki and ZI as Global Moderators, I have observed very little action by the hands of Basics- be it simply because their assigned sections are not volatile, or because they themselves are not active enough to carry out their duties. I realize a position in the fora's staff is a largely voluntary matter, but as an individual who is given power to keep peace, one has the responsibility of defusing situations as swiftly as possible- such action has not prominent, and the slack appears to be left to the Globals. If they are already doing all the work, the Basics are serving little purpose.

Secondly, I would like to address Blue specifically. He has been assigned to multiple sections, and I have not seen him act in any of them as of late. He has my sympathies if something personal keeps him away from us-which may very likely be the case, as I have not seen him on Steam and the like for some time--, but there has been no indication nor warning that this is the case. I would go as far to say that he has been irresponsible with his ability over Spam and its' usergroup, but very honestly that is up to debate due to the nature of the section itself. I do not mean to say he has been completely inactive, but a visit every few days is simply not up to the expectations that have been laid out for him.

Lastly, I would be very appreciative if posts reminiscent of "I'm here if you need a replacement~" could be stayed until such a reaction is called for, if only to allow the thread to run its' course without distraction.

Thank you for your time~

It's not so much having moderators who do their jobs as it is just having them there to intimidate.

But I do feel Blue is not the best mod, he's too close to spam and his judgment may be somewhat swayed by these relations.

I could try looking into his sections a bit more often as an interim solution. I'll bump this up the chain of command.

I find Blue to be a quite efficient moderator when active, and he seems to try keeping situations under control in any section.
However, his recent inactivity is something that needs to be surveyed, and I hope he will come back to explain soon.

I agree that Blue is a good moderator but there should be someone with a little less power to keep his section in line eventually if Blue continues to be inactive that person could/might over throw Blues position and take it up. Possible one of the DEVs?

One of the Devs?

Lolno.
The devs are the last people who deserve to be modded, because they already have an holier than thou attitude.
It's like throwing lighter fluid into a fire.

Generalizing the devs as egotistic based on the actions of a few isn't fair to the others of pure intentions.

EDIT: However, I'd like to clear up that I don't agree that a contribution to SSF2 justifies becoming a mod.

The people that should be mods in my opinion are the ones that are active all the time and have contributed to McLeodGaming in some way (creating web skin, spritework, etc.)

Active meaning that thery're on regularly, and obey forum rules...

That's my opinion on this subject...

Maybe holding auditions like things.

Like have different scenarios and see how people would respond. Of course, you would need to pre-select a couple of mods-to-be, but it could work.

So what are we going to do about these Inactive Mods?
Strip them of their modship and promote others?

Funny, until this inactive period Blue would've been one of the first mods I would've suggested for being promoted.

Blue is a bad mod baw, blah, blah, blah, baw, baw, baw, etc.

Don't let your almost familial relations with him sway your judgment.

Not as bad as NU, though.
Can we get him unmodded one of these days?

It's not any better.
He doesn't even look at it.

Sure he made rules, but no one follows them.
