Debatable, really. Now that she's constantly getting outshined by someone else and largely forgotten, I'd say she fits Luigi even more (since a big part of Luigi's character is that he's always getting outshined by his brother and therefore largely forgotten by the population).

She's always been kind of a filler character, so I'm not suprised that they ignore her now that they've got another character.

But they could have developed Daisy a tiny bit instead of a newbie. It's not like Peach has a whole lot of personality that would complicate giving her something recognizable.

Actually, that's a big misconception and given the history, Spain did before them, and not this [pseudo] "America", almost a half of America as a continent was an annexed reign or colony of Spain, going even further to include the Philippines in Oceania. That's funny, because in a sense, Spain never owned Mexico or any country in the Caribbean or Latin America that were annexed to its domain for the mere fact they weren't stablished as independent nations. Bretain only occupy a coast in the Atlantic, the 13 colonies, an applying what I told you, Bretain tachnically didn't owned the US as the US didn't exist as that time. Captain Toad levels were awesome in 3D World, I'm pretty sure everyone who played it wanted a full game made of them so it's cool that we're getting one.
