Is it bad I find the Japanese argument that it is a cultural tradition pathetic? Cultural whaling occurs yearly on the Faroe Islands by traditional methods, what the Japanese do has nothing to do with culture, unless they have been using giant metal ships for centuries for whaling at an enormous scale.

I think "it's tradition" is the dumbest excuse in history, no matter what the situation.

On the other hand, I don't exactly agree with protestors who consider boarding a vessel with a weapon or ramming their ship against anothers viable means of voicing your disapproval.
