It's a wall tech as he was sent flying into the icicle from an attack. Not to mention, I don't think anyone can reset their character that fast for it just to be a wall jump.

I just want to say that as if TP Zelda wasn't lame enough as is, rewatching the Hyrule Warriors trailer made me what that adorable badass a hundred times more.
I would gladly take any other Zelda over this one. Even CD-i Zelda has more personality. Hell, I loved Twilight Princess as a game, but she was one of the worst parts of it

I like her design. She looks much more dignified as opposed to the more cartoony Peach and Rosalina. On top of that, just about every female in Smash has blonde hair (Peach, Samus, Rosalina), so I think Zelda brings some nice variety. To me, her looks build forth on her intelligence rather then just beauty and I can dig that.

I really hope more characters will get alts. Dr. Mario is a must. Fusion Suit Samus would be nice. More stuff like that would get me a little bit more into it.
