I recently (well, not real recent) finished watching the whole Get Smart series and saw both movies, Get Smart, Again and Get Smart with Steve Carrel, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, and Alan Arkin.
The whole series (including both movies) is a real laugh machine! When I first saw the movie (the newer one, with Steve Carrel), I laughed my head off, then I watched the series, and now I know a lot about it! Then I watched "Get Smart, Again" (after Edward Platt, the Chief died). Everybody came back, and the movie was a laugh, too!
By the way, just to make a funny...

Get Smart is one of my favourite shows, it reuses jokes but keeps them fresh.

After seeing the recent Get Smart movie, I have shied away from the TV show. However, since Steve Carell remains one of my favorite actors, I won't dock him any points for it.
The movie wasn't bad. It was just cliche, stupid, and boring. The jokes weren't funny, The Rock sucks in any movie he's in and brings down everyone else's performance, the pairing could have been better, and the plot was just overly done. Now, don't try to convince me to give the TV show a try, I promise you I'll force myself to dislike it. After that, I'm done with spy comedies and the like. That movie just killed it for me.

Well, if you do watch the show, then you'll be watching one of the most popular spy comedies in the history of spy comedies...or would you believe one of the average popular spy comedy in the history of spy comedies? You'll be enjoying the classic series with the talented Don Adams, Edward Platt, Barbara Feldon and more! Stabbing, guns, and more killing nonsense in a G-rated series! Even Max and 99 get married and have TWINS! You'll be experiencing the hillarious spy comedy...and loving it!
Whay didn't thay use "and loving it!" in the movie?
