Sorry for going a bit off topic, but recently, my brother told me that apparently Gematsu leaked that we are most likely going to get DLC for thid game and I was going crazy. I was just so happy to think that there was actually a chance for a character like Daisy or Dixie to be playable. Thoughts? Ideas?

That's his newest claim, yes I'd buy DLC as long as it didn't go overboard

Well, namco helped out, not sure on what. So, at least A character will represent them in some way.

You mean the devs not getting their favorite character in? Any examples?

"Pic of the day. Here's Donkey Kong's third standard special attack, Storm Punch!! Thanks to the customization options, each fighter is stocked with 12 different special moves. The number of attacks is pretty appalling." "We've made it so that customization options, including special attacks, will be disabled when you're playing online in With Anyone mode. After all, we have to think about game balance, and it's crucial for anonymous players to be able to use reliable tactics against one another. When you're playing in single player, battling with friends online, or playing locally, you're free to play however you want--with or without customization."

Now I have to wonder, if you change a characters special moves around, will the cpu use the changed attacks when they use that character, or are they always set to default? My guess is the former.

That DK move looks pretty sweet! I don't really have nothing to say about Pac-man though; I'll probably never touch him. I wish Sophie or Pascal or some Tales of character made it instead of him... That's just me. I did wish for some Tekken character to appear to make my Nintendo-hating friend go on a rage though!

you'll be able to put them in sets and then chose between them at the character select screen so if you pick them for the CPU players then they'll use them source: it's the logical thing to do

I'm still really not sure how I feel about custom moves
On one hand it could breathe new life into some characters that I dislike
But you can't actually use those new moves in all the modes, so like
idk
And the whole equipment thing does seem really bad to me

Nothing at all if it's restricted just to single player modes
But in previous games, the only things that separated two Mario players was their skill. Custom movesets are nice, and since there are only so many varieties, I do like what they add to vs matches.
Equipment, though, I'm really worried about. A more skilled player may lose to someone who has simply found better equipment. I had hoped the fact that increasing one stat always lowers another would balance itself out, but the losses are always lower than the gains for each piece of equipment shown. Take a look at the screenshot on the website - Mario only GAINS attack, defense and speed from his equipment, he doesn't lose anything. There's no tradeoff, it's just boosts.
I don't want to worry about grinding for the best equipment or consider the fact that my opponent may have equipment way better than mine. There are games that could benefit from that, but that's not what Smash is about. That's not what Smash has ever been about.
It would be like using stickers in Brawl vs matches, only worse since each sticker could have different stats depending on... well, luck apparently. I'm totally fine with stickers/equipment in single player modes, but not in vs.
I'm just really really uncomfortable with the idea. To be honest, I might just ask people not to use equipment when we play online.
