Why Masked Man should be in SSB4 (Mother Series)
1. He's a main villain, like porky, but porky doesn't fight on foot, and uses machines to fight. Masked Man does.

2. We already had 2 reps, and Lucas was very similar to Ness. It could create a distinction.

3. They could do a Zelda Shiek thing for lucas players, having Masked Man as a new moveset, and Claus as the Lucas one.

Don't forget that Mother is a pretty obscure game, even with Smash taken into consideration

I don't personally feel like it needs three slots

With Masked Man in and if they used the Claus idea, he could replace lucas and still satisfy fans!
Also, Earthbound is pretty big in Nintendo's eyes... In fact, fans almost actually got them to release Mother 3 in America with a ton of phone calls from angry fans.

But it is obscure compared to Kirby, which is why Kirby has three characters and Mother two

Clearly you think a walking spoiler from Mother 3 is more important than the main character. And since Lucas is Lucas he could have a cool thing with Lucas's moveset that satisfies Lucas mains.

sheik was added in melee so being a spoiler isn't an issue

I don't think the matter of his inclusion being a spoiler is the main problem. Replacing the main character for the antagonist of the game would be retard city.

There's a difference though;
Claus is Lucas' brother and can do what Lucas can do. It's literally the same character but he has a different personality and has possibilities for another form . It'd be like 2 characters in 1. Also, the replacing the main character issue could just be fixed with palletes, AND we don't have a playable Mother villain, AND Claus could have a unique moveset with his suit. Why I think Claus is perfect is because he could rep the villain, could replace Lucas without many complaining due to palletes and him able to have a Shiek/Zelda thing with his Suit and the moveset from Lucas, and we have a new unique set of moves with his suit.
