also the new Sigur Ros balls hard, they were becoming stale and formulaic in recent releases so it was neat to see them try a darker and heavier sound

Finished the album.
It delivered the chaotic energy and complexity one would expect from a Dillinger album but adds clean singing to the table and they work great. The album is just so fun to listen to. The instrumental track CH 375 268 277 ARS thrashes so hard into your eardrums and just furthers the intensity of the album. The singing both harsh and clean fail in no areas whatsoever. Now I listened to the deluxe version and the two tracks were an Easy Girl remix of One Of Us Is The Killer and the demo version of Nothing's Funny. The Easy Girl remix takes Greg Puciato's vocals and is surrounded by soft synths and it goes oh-so-well, it's practically a cherry on top. Great stuff. The demo is what you expect from a demo, but it's always a nice thing to have. 9.6/10 AOTY I must say. _________________ |

Balance And Ruin (FF6 OCRemix album) might be my favorite, especially the Impresario, which is an incredible song on its own merit, let alone it being a remix of a video game song. I haven't gotten many albums this year so I can't contribute to discussion. I got the Daft Punk album, and it just wasn't my cup of tea, even if I appreciate the sound they were going for. I have it on from time to time as background music.
