Revelations was very meh. It was a good game, but they didn't really change much. They hookblade was pretty cool and adding climbing mechanics, but te story was just so bleh. You don't even know who the antagonist is until like the 2nd to last mission, which kinda ruins the narrative.
IMO the one great thing about Rev was the multiplayer. Very fun and unique.

desmond's backstory was cool and so was giving altair an epilogue

Revelations was like one of the yearly sports/wrestling games. More of the same, with minor changes, some good, others bad. And dear f*** god, that defense mini-game thing was the worst thing they ever added. As for the hookblade... It extends Ezio's reach a bit, and allows the use of hooklines sometimes... Kind of a minor thing, considering the same could be done in AC2 with that little frog jump thing, or whatever it was called.

Story was also meh, and overall it really felt like it didn't need to be there. It doesn't really add much, except for the DLC that reveals (massive f***' spoilers, btw) Lucy was working for the templars after all, and ended up being the one to lead to 16's madness, which was... Kinda stupid, really.

I never really played Rev's multiplayer, did they change much from Brotherhood?

I hated the first war machine level. It dragged on forever, and aiming with the arrow keys, as opposed to WASD was a terrible idea. The naval one was pretty good, and now I'm on the aerial bomber.

Aerial Bomber rapes, truly best of the lot IMO.

It took me ages to manage to control the aerial bomber, I think I failed that mission like 7 times... I remember being frustrated at the controls, but I can't remember what the specific issues I had with it were. Definitely a part I would've preferred to play on PC, though.

100% on the Tank one was such s***. But yeah, I agree the Aerial Bomber was the best of the four, with the machine gun being my least favorite.

main character in the series is desmond but each individual game it's desmond and one of his ancestors (Altair, Ezio or Connor)

Yeah, Revelations places third of the four games to me. It's fun. Like TOWK said, the hookblade added some nice climbing mechanics. Altairs memories are fun, as are the tombs in which you get the Masyaf keys. What really irks me is how templar awareness goes up a whole 25% if you buy a shop. I have an urge to take every shop I find and buy the s*** out of it. But they took out posters, and paying heralds only for 25% of the awareness to go down is s***.
