I can't even believe this girl thing is getting so much talk. I seriously didn't think twice, about her or the rest of that announcment

Bro it's 2014 where have you been for the past forever

I know man even though girls are rare to find in the smash community, I have seen a number of girls play smash.

Pretty much all the girls that I know that play video games at my school are pretty decent (my girlfriend being arguably being the best girl out of all of them) at Smash Bros and enjoy it a lot. We had a Smash Bros tournament during school yesterday due to a school picnic and we had over 32 people join in. :D

Gender politics is s***

Some s*** think they shouldn't be in because they're women

Some people are concerned that they got in over more skilled players because of political reasons (their gender)

Some other s*** loop both of those groups together and yell really loudly about it on their blogs

Every reasonable opinion is drowned out by a screaming s*** on one side or the other

There was a pretty big disscusion about females and Smash Bros a few years ago on SmashBoards talking about its ridiculous how some people don't think females do or shouls play SSB competitively, and I agree. It shouldn't really matter at all to be honest. It's just that its a really rare care, that's all.

This is what actually happened. There's not much wrong with it though, since this is a promotional event, not a competitive one, and their goal is to appeal to a wide audience.

If this was the official nintendo tournament for best player ever and also a million dollars then it would be dumb that players like Lilo got invited. As is, who cares. The M2K snub is still a bit lame, though.

It's not that.

They think it's weird that 25% of the participants for the biggest invitational tournament were bad players chosen because of their gender.

What they're missing is that it's not meant to be a serious competition.

Believe that this was going to be an actual competitive tournament? Yes?. . .

Well, when they first announced this invitational, they made "highly skilled players," sounds almost like they were going to take 16 best Smashers in the world (Or, that is how most people are going to interpret such a phrase).

Then again; once you see the rule-set and player roster, you know this is an most of an entertainment tournament. That's somewhat why people are confused or upset because what was said before. But there should be much disappointment as we all knew this was a large possibility. And honestly, it's much better to promo the game. It a great opportunity for fans to see the characters, moves, items, stages, and the way to play. At least Grand Finals will be something interesting in-terms of competition.

One of them probably will be KoreanDJ or Ken for the finals, unless they're not lucky with Items

I'd rather say the winner would be PPMD or Zero.

How could you possibly think that a 16 player tourney of handpicked-by-nintendo players playing a game that no one has ever played before be "highly competitive"?
