stages with platforms are good cause utilt goes through them.. I think smaller stages favour him too, cause he spaces more of the stage.
FD is probably worst.

Inspired by the Sheik thread I tested this and, although this may be common knowledge, you can cancel the charge of Giant Punch in midair without airdodging.

I personally deconfirm this theory, my brother does not have a shield button and loses his Charge Shot from time to time(Samus)

Samus and DK may be different.


My personal theory is that it has something to do with getting hit out of the charging state while doing something weird, like airdodging or something.

optimum missed tech punish for DK is jab reset -> sideB -> dair

anything better? I'm pretty sure this is best for followups + damage but I might be wrong.
the only thing is they can tech the dair but you can regrab that if their techroll is crap

Depends on character honestly. If they're at kill percent, jab -> grab -> bthrow is the best option. If they're a fast-faller at low percents, the dair may give them time to run away, so it's best to just grab them or do reset -> SH uair -> combo. Still, I think generally this is the best option.

New Minigame: Set yourself up against a level 9 Samus and see how many of her missiles you can powershield while facing her. THEN, redo the minigame but with your back to Samus.

You will probably powershield noticeably better when facing away from Samus. This suggests that DK's shield is actually smaller than his idle animation, but only from the front (his front retracts a bit, but his back stays about in the same spot). Powershielding with DK while he is facing his opponent is very hard as a result, you literally need to press shield the frame before the projectile would hit you, so that when your stance shrinks the shield comes out when the projectile hits. On most characters you just press shield a couple frames before the projectile hits (since shield doesn't come out right away).
