But the SSF2 Discussion section is the perfect place to discuss SSF2 tier lists

Having another section with other people's opinions in it doesn't change that

Yeah, they'd be created in the back room. (official ones at least)

But they could be discussed in the Discussion forum. Regardless of why it's being discussed

...right, but im not sure why you bring that point up. that'll be the case whether the backroom is private or not.

I can sort of understand both sides, but I think saying that fans would outrage in the SSF2 public forum at the discussions being made is being a wee bit dramatic. If I know the ssf2 section like I think I do, I'm pretty sure they'll keep to their devices. I'm not sure if you've read through the strategy topic, but there isn't much. Not to many of the forum dwelling fans that are active in that section care much about competitive play, bar users like Terra.

Like Kyuubit said, it shouldn't be hidden because there's nothing to hide. You aren't going to be subjected to rampant criticism like you're speculating. There will probably be the occasional stray member who spouts some sort of gibberish regarding the back room, but as I'm sure you've noticed there are always mods in there keeping things in order. It won't be a problem.

If you genuinely believe that there will be some issue I guess we can come to some sort of middle ground. We make the section and make it publicly viewable at first. If the fans react in a negative manner and proceed to flood the SSF2 section with garbage (which I'm confident they will not, maybe the first day or two), then we can go ahead and make the choice to turn it invisible.

Either way I think moving them back here is a great idea. Dibs on the section lol

Because we aren't in need of extra moderators, and there are plenty of capable ones. I get that he created it but since it's being moved to MG, MG's moderators can handle it.

but it should be a private forum for the reasons that have already been stated in this thread
in which case he's not being added as another mod he's just a private section mod, exactly the same as me.

Modding a small sub-forum in the dev section isnt the same as modding a whole section. Plus the global moderators will be able to view it regardless. Hence global.

why
like literally what is different about the process that makes it not the same as a small sub forum
it will be a small group of people and the section won't (shouldn't) be seen by anyone not a part of that section

modding a small sub-forum in the dev section =/= modding a small sub-forum in ssf2 discussion?

will you ever stop being such an idiot?

You're comparing apples to oranges. You only moderate that section so you can edit OPs. That's all. Void is likely to be the OP of the important threads that will need updating regardless. There are already moderators on MG to take care of the rest if something needs to be done past that.

And globals will be able to see the section, like it or not. They're GLOBAL moderators. Meaning all sections maybe bar VIP and Admin.

And it 's going to be larger than a small sub section, Kyuubit. It'll very likely have other divisions and go way deeper than that due to the nature of the organized discussion.
