MUCH EDITS 2/6/15. NEW MAINS, TOURNEYS, SMASH GAMES, ETC.

Name (aka Handle): DARKcpu0/Dark. Also go by Model-Zero as well.

How old are you?:
16
Which characters do you play in SSF2? Why do you play these characters? (Note: do not list characters that are not currently in the game):
Now a days I solo Peach. I lost my Falcon, Fox, Mario, Marth, Megaman, and Link.

Its been way too long. I'm out of practice.

Anyways, I play Peach due to just, liking her really. I've always wanted some sort of Peach in a smash title.
I actually do Peach things in SSB3DS. Only reason I still have one in SSF2.
She reminds me of Mewtwo, which is kinda my idea character type in that I get semi-decent space control, good range, air game, and some zoning tools, except Peach doesn't really have range.... *cough*
She has decent combo potential, good spacing, great kills, pretty nice gimping tools, grab game is gorgeous, etc.

As of the Apex demo, GnW and fox along side peach.

GnW. Feels so f*** nice in that new demo. Fix that dash, maybe make the dtilt abit faster on acting out of it, and we're golden.
And fix those jank windboxes lol.

I got four stocked in fox dittos on stream. I need my honour back. If GodTouch sees this s***, I'll put money on a rematch in fox dittos if necessary. An actual set this time around.

How much experience do you have with official Smash titles? (SSB64, Melee, Brawl. Include in this answer which characters you play/played.):
I've played all, I've learned xyz techs for xyz characters, I feel like I have a semi decent amount of experience with the titles of old.
SSB64 I was only Fox.

Mewtwo, some Spacies, some Fire Emblem, some Ganon, Some Dr.Mario. Primarily the first two however. (Melee)

Brawl I've shifted mains to cover pretty much the entire roster but Ganon Zelda and Meta Knight. Ones that stuck longest were Marth, Yoshi, Rob, Falco, and Ice Gra- Climbers. I can't do Brawl anymore though. Melee/PM have ruined me.

Mewtwo and Spacies for PM 3.5. Abit of Fire Emblem, abit of Ganon. Some Dr.Mario. Primarily the first two however. Its not official, but still something to put in. I put the most work out of any smash into that game to be honest.

SSB3DS ZSS Peach primarily.

SSBWiiU DiddyKong, Jigglypuff, Pikachu.

Yes my mains in the 3DS and WiiU versions of Sm4sh are different. This is really due to controls and whatnot. Peach works better for me in 3DS but not WiiU, and Diddy works in WiiU better for me than 3DS. I still use abit of Peach in WiiU, but it doesnt quite feel the same. Not sure why.

Have you ever attended any Smash tournaments? If so, give some details about the tournament (number of participants, which games, etc). How well did you place?
SummerJam 8 late august. Melee and PM. Knocked out of pools. For the most part my matches were close.
Except for f*** Cactaur. (And Vex)

Then just a week or two ago I went to a local "Roll Em Up" for Melee and PM.
Knocked into losers first round, knocked out of losers.
PM I had to go against Cactaur in my first round.

Just for some reference in the case of whomever reading this doesn't know who Cactaur is, he's the best f*** player in either my city, or state.
Either way he's the best of something.

Got Cruzycakes in my 1st round of losers for melee.

I have terrible luck.

Apex 2015, KDJ in my first seed.

When did you start playing SSF2?
Around the time beta 0.4 was a thing.

What is your favorite stage in SSF2? Explain.
I'd have to say Dreamland. Its nice and big allowing for clutch comebacks, platforms for good combos, those platforms are just high enough to allow work on the main stage, and its just nice.
Thats all.

Who, in your opinion, should be placed first on the SSF2 tier list? Under competitive settings why would this character perform on a higher level than all others? As of that Apex demo, its probably going to be a rock paper scissors between Goku, Ichigo, and GnW. Ichigo has the range to beat out GnW, GnW has a massive amount of combo potential ability and air dominance to beat out Goku, and Goku combos the living s*** out of Ichigo while out spacing him with the superior projectile.

Who, in your opinion, should be placed last on the SSF2 tier list? Under competitive settings why would this character perform on a lower level than all others?
I want to say Megaman. I do. His recovery is horrid, he's way too projectile based, he lacks the ability to really get in, gimmicky, easy to get in on, easy to combo, etc. However his combo game, while relying on set ups and hard reads, can be pretty devastating. He's like the Mewtwo of the game. Not the best, but not entirely bad. With that being said.... Nah Megaman's garbage. I'd say Peach but atleast she has better recovery that has kill power to an extent, projectiles that keep the opponent on their toes due to the rng, and a counter. Situational combos add icing to the cake. Being the Mewtwo of this game is a terrible fate.

I talk about Mewtwo alot, don't I.

If you could make only one change to SSF2 as it currently is, what would it be and why?
Honestly, I really want wavedashing.

Why?
MOVEMENT OPTIONS.

There are so little
f*** movement options
In SSF2.

Being a Peach main, this is a big issue. Peach isnt particularly fast nor does she really have much of an approach game going for her. I mean, she has one, its just not as good as say Fox's nair.

So maybe not specifically wavedashing, but just, more movement options. The game feels somewhat fluid and stiff simultaneously.
How do you manage to do such a thing.

As of Apex 2015, While it feels alot nicer than I remember ssf2 feeling, I still would like some other options in general. If GnW's UpB to Air moves gets nerfed to the point of not being viable, Im gonna quit this game lol.

What is your view on items in competitive play?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EFx0-Zkn54
This.

I still strongly believe it, however certain things like turnips and bombs are somewhat different in that they arent (for the most part) unpredictable. Atleast with turnips you clearly see whats in front of you and try to plan accordingly. Random capsules not so much. They take away control. As where bombs and turnips add control to the character. Nothing more than a boomerang or fireball. A smart bomb however isn't exactly competition friendly.

Do you have or can you download Skype? You don't need a mic or webcam.
I have a laptop now.
I have skype. Also on my phone. I have a mic. I have a webcam.
Woo.

Why do you want to join the Smash Flash Back Room? What will you contribute? Why are you an exceptional applicant? Be as detailed as possible.
Why join? I'unno I've been playing for 6 years, I'd like to contribute more than just playing. I have some ideas for stuff locked up that I'd like to share. Theorycrafting. Etc.

Figured I'd add in that I've been helping the PM 3.5 Mewtwo Boards on smashboards, finding out s***.

Had a hand in pseudo-telehovers and what not. Pretty jank stuff. I love it. Should check in out.

I like doing stuff like that. Helping people find out things for a character they want to learn and stuff, or just general things. Want to do that for SSF2 as well.

Additional information (Include in this section anything relevant to your application. This could include links to videos of yourself playing.)
As of Apex 2015, I have hella footage thanks to stream.

Just look for the goofy Red GnW with either the tag M-0, 9, NEIN9, or M-9. Should be around 2:41:00.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdNXUOY ... 5O7pQ_oo7A

And seriously. A couple hours before I beat GodTouch in a set of Fox Dittos in PM 3.5

I'll do it in SSF2.

When I get a pc that isn't a**.
Or when the new demo comes out so I can switch to GnW when I get bored.

1. Discuss the Mario vs. Marth matchup. Be sure to discuss every option available to each character and determine who wins the matchup (or if it is even). Also include a ratio (i.e. 50-50, 60-40, etc).

2. What do you feel is Fox's worst stage competitively?

Hm. The Mario vs Marth Matchup huh?

Lets see. Mario can play good spacies with those projectiles, and could easily kill recovery options. He has a decent reach with his standard moveset, a good recovery on his own, but his range is what stops him from getting ahead of Marth. Marth's tipper is a massive part of his power and the range Mario has to get in to do serious damage is right there in that tipper area.
This of course is keeping in mind the ground game.

In air its pretty even, but again going to Marth, for the range of that sword of his. Also given Marth can be played at a higher speed than Mario allows for easy pressure and such. Mario can give forced reactions with mind games but we cant quite touch that subject as something as such is much too specific to the player.

I'd talk about hitboxes but I honestly dont know much on the topic of such.

I think I've covered everything.

Mario has the staying power, but Marth can take that away just as well.

65-35 in favor of Marth.

----------

As for Fox, Hm. Given the new stages and possible changes in such, I'd need a list of whats legal.

Sorry, but you must use your discretion to determine what is legal and what is banned.

Welp since I have to infer, I'll just do a breakdown on what stages I considered legal I guess.

More like a list but whatever.

Keep in mind I took these stages into consideration with hazards off.
Battlefield,
Final Destination,
Castlevania
Tower of Salvation
Pokemon Stadium X (Whatever number it was. 3 right?)
3DS
Warioware
Dreamland
Smashville
Yoshi's Story.

Now lets break these down.
Battlefield and Dreamland are pretty balanced stages for just about any character, so lets strike those.

FD CV ToS, PS, 3DS WW, SV, YS.

Going off Melee/Project M logic, Yoshi's Story is a fairly decent stage for Fox, atleast in my eyes.

Fd is out as well. Probably Fox's best stage.

CV, ToS, PS, 3DS, WW, SV.

Smashville is out due to being just, Fd with a moving platform essentially.

Castlevania holds a similar issue, but having alot more platforms only granting benefits for combos.

Also Pokemon stadium being Battlefield with no middle platform kills that as well.

ToS, 3DS, WW.

Warioware is abit tough, but fairly great for combos and air game, also allowing some good follow ups if you can grab fast enough.

ToS, 3DS.

3DS is just FD, with a slightly bigger margin for error in recovery.

Tower of salvation has some nice platforms, but still for the most part can be held in the same regaurd as Pokemon stadium.

Due to margin for error in recovery, 3DS is fox's worse stage in my set of legal stages. Fox having a good anythingame, kinda only is somewhat s*** in recovery, and barely there.

So the 3DS.

All that Starfox 64 3D brought him down a peg I guess :I

Sorry for the slight delay by the way.

After doing some thinking, again keeping in mind hazards off, I added a few more stages.

I added Central Highway, 3DS Still takes it, as Central Highway has a nice amount of room to work with.

Added Sky Sanctuary . 3DS Still winning. Easy follow ups through platforms and nice room to get some ground work, and a great amount of space between platforms to keep some juggles going.

Fox really has no bad stages. Just one that happens to dis benefit him in the ever so slightest.

----------------------------------------------------
Ok so afterwards, alittle later I guess a list was determined, and Imma just X out either or,
keeping FD and 3DS as one, stages I think fox would do quite well on when played to his best in tournament settings.

Starter
- FD/Nintendo 3DS (you can pick either one if it's your turn, but they can both be covered by a single ban or strike) X/X
- BF X
- Jungle Hijinx X
- WarioWare X
- Mirror Chamber X
- Pokemon Stadium 3 X
- Tower of Salvation X
- Yoshi's Story X
- Dreamland X
- Smashville X
- Castle Siege X - X

Counterpick
- Yoshi's Island X
- Dracula's Castle X
- Central Highway (Hazards on) X
- Lunar Core X

I still strongly believe Fox's worst is 3DS. He has a good EverythingGame and as such, just the slip up in the recovery which alone is somewhat punishable is enough.

I would say Castle Siege but due to its nature of transformation and such, I had to take all 3 versions into play, and only the 2nd form seems to lack in fox's favor, but seeing as that isn't permanent at all, the other 2 forms alone outweigh it, still leaving 3DS open. Lunar Core seems to only grant Fox more recovery options in certain situtations.

If you want to apply, you'll have to make your own thread.

(I remember you from the APEX '15 stream, by the way.)
