i made a shy guy expansion and it totally owned clwod is going to put it in the game

The expansion forums was one of those down the hill sort of things. SSB being at the top, then rolling down onto a fan game dedicated to the series, then down further to the fan base of the fan game, then landing down at the expansion forums. Fan made material dedicated to a fan made game. Needless to say by the end it's pretty f*** intolerable.

it ended up being a bunch of lame edits but it was fun as hell and a lot of people helped out and wow

that's funny because by the end of it's lifespan everybody who consistently went there really stopped caring about the game

Yeah, that's how this place has become. Nobody I even talk to wants to play SSF2, anymore. I guess it's not a bad thing, seeing as it'll never come out. We've become a stronger community through our bonds.

Yes because we basically told them we aren't going to code their Sonics and Original 2edgy characters. Like no offence to people who were there or anything, but the expansion ideas were getting a little silly.

Geno I was there. There were no Sonics and there were like 3 or 4 original / fan characters out of all the completed / in progress ones. Several did end up becoming silly though, Eario and Block Man come to mind.

I remember the forums being disconnected because there was no reason for it to exist when expansions were still up in the air and that they weren't under proper supervision of something like that.

I was there as well, I lurked. It only blew up and downspiraled into a spam filled mess after we cut ties. Of course toward the very end there were all of the crazies condensed into one forum, but before that there were still expansions being made. Probably not as many as in the past of course. Throughout the entire history of like the 4 expansion forums there were always people who didn't care about the forum and trolled.

If there will ever be another official Expansion Forum equivalent ever (that is if we even have "expansions"), it would be held here on MG in a subsection for SSF2 or something.

It was fun while it lasted.

I stand by my belief that the best thing to come out of that forum post-MG was Astrocops.
