March 13, 2009 News (SSF2 v0.4b Released + 1 New Song)

Version v0.4b is complete! Go to my Games section now to play. Here is the list of changes:

Cleod9 wrote:
- Grab key added, use it to grab a character or toss an item. YOU MUST set this to a key in Control Settings! (Tethering ledges with the grab key will be added later on in v0.5)
- Fan and exploding capsule added, and smash ball has a small chance of coming from a capsule
- Ability to choose a random character and stage added
- Shield knockback added
- Better handling for rolling near an edge
- Improved Kirby exhale behavior
- You can now control the camera during a paused CPU match
- Quicker match reset function added. While paused just press and hold both attack buttons, then hit the pause key
- After-images added to Sonic's homing attack
- Lightly let go of a cliff by pressing the opposite direction you are hanging from
- Various traction issues fixed
- More freezing issues fixed
- Hyrule Temple and Whispy Woods graphics improved and resized slightly


It's important that you assign a key for grabbing, otherwise you won't be able to toss items (Although I left in all the old methods for grabbing another player) And I know I had said at one point that I was working on giving the AI better Hyrule temple navigation. Unfortunately my plan for that didn't work out so you'll have to wait until v0.5 for that... :(

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the changes in the new demo! For a list of things I plan for v0.5, see my homepage.

Also, some feedback on my new piece of music would be nice :)

Oh, I thought you were talking about capsule. I never had a fan appear in a match yet, lol... Of course you'd use grab there.

The demo is great. All I see so far is that Link isn't supposed to be able to pull out a bomb when an item is in his hand.

after every demo you release it just keeps feeling more and more like brawl. i have to say the kirby stage is looking awsome and same with the castle. only problems i had whas that the cpu's need better IQ and the gravity is a little to strong but thats the only problems i had.

Great demo Cleod, a lot of bugs and glitches fixed.
Just one thing i've noted is that the CPU always use grab.

Nice demo cleod, the gameplay is perfect and i didnt notice any bug yet! i was waiting for random select since first demo XD i love to soft reset matches and i love the grab key but i cant still hit while i grab someone XD anyway good luck!... also... there is something i dont understand... if u took 2 monthes and a half to make this demo, how can u take only 1 month to a version with a new characters, stages, items, modes...?... that doesnt make sense for me lol

I'm using E as the Grab key, works better IMO.

And great job on fixing most of the bugs. :wee:
