Well it was showcased in last Month's Smash brothers direct. The jet pack is similar to that of ROB's up special, I believe.

I doubt that if its likely gonna be used upon jumping, i think its just gonna give characters a higher jumping distance along with probably a slower falling speed (unlike the bunny hood). If it replaced the character's Up Special, then i could see it, but we'll see...

Maybe it will operate similar to Peach's float ability (as in having to hold the jump button to gain height), now that i think about it.

Edit again: Now that I think about it, the timing of the first day will conflict with the presentation about Nintendo's mystery 3DS game (Smash ends at the same time that's supposed to start). Guess you're gonna have to watch it later if you don't leave early.
