The only ones I could see in the game as slightly likely would be Ryu, Mike Jones (friendly reminder he's from an abandoned NES game of the same caliber of Earthbound), Excitebike and maybe Paula. The others are just ridiculous, the anime characters are polarizing enough, let's not make things worse for the game's publicity, k? |

I speculate Cloud as another FF representative seeing as how Smash 4 pretty much threw the "Nintendo console exclusive" rule out the window by including him and a stage (with summons) from FF7. Besides, didn't he have beta sprites or something before the team started to make the roster more professional and truer to the series?
