Look people, the spam section is staying.
I hate the spam section myself, but I also hate most of spam and MEMEs in general.
There are a lot of users in this forum who are used to spam a lot, so it's up to us (the mod team) to close those topics. Having them all togheter in one section is an easy way to make it all tidier and make them get autodeleted.
But the important thing is that it's a way to dis-encourage the spam posting in other sections of the forum (like the other section)
So don't complain about it. And talking about "unfunny" spam is just a lame because it's only a point of view. For example, I see no funny in "Weegee", and some people love that stupid way of calling "Luigi".
But Besides that, there is a lot of "popularity" issues mixted with these opinion.
I'm hell damn sure that something posted by belth is going to be seen in a different way than something posted by Dictonary (Even if they both posted the same thing).
