The purpose of this thread is to gauge interest and spread the news about an SSF2 invitational tournament coming up soon. Most if not all information can be found on the website, however it would help if I also stated it here so:
- The tournament is 2 days and is in summer(some of the contestants will still be in school before summer), June 27-28
- There are 16 players. Like summit it's 10 people added by the TOs and 6 people voted in.
- The 10 people added in by the TOs are: Chaos0, WRXJoey, SoldierSunday, Miracle--7, Chaunch, Appley, Infamous, Lite2Key, Gax and Kyoz.
- The 6 people in terms of voting and nomination are still undecided and being voted on (go to the thread linked above)
- The whole event will be streamed, there will be designated commentators and streamers for this event.

Bracket information:
- Top 16 is round robin, 4 groups of 4 people, top 2 of the pools per pool go to top 8.
- Top 8 is Double Elimination
- Round robin pools are best of 3 but top 8 is all best of 5 matches.

I put this in community because I feel it's more a discussion than a tournament signup/checkin thread considering it is an invite based system- however feel free to move as you please mods.

So much work is put into this.. I hope this goes well.

Hopefully the matches will be recorded and promoted. SSF2 could use ompetitive exposure like this honestly.

Seems kinda harsh since, you know, a bunch of people would still have to vote for him in order for him to get into the invitational. Kicking him out from this early stage seems excessive since it is, after all, just the nomination stage at this point.

I don't get the argument in how you think anyone is entitled to anything in an invitational, especially people who degrade the quality of the event. Seriously? :/ Trying to white knight or whatever isn't gonna make the situation or the event better.

Doubles is listed. Is it also invitational?

Even the lamest and campiest of players can be nominated for Melee's Summit, they just aren't going to get many votes. I'm just saying that I don't see a reason to ban him from such an early stage of the tournament. If ppl are worried about watching laggy matches then don't vote for him lol.

It's still your tournament so you can ban whoever you want, but I'm not white knighting. I genuinely believe that banning him so early is just unnecessary, especially if his connection has improved and there are numerous ppl that can testify to that. But nah it's cool, if you feel this is the right thing to do then don't mind me
