((This one is a prototype. If enough are interested, I may actually refine and then start it up.))

Wings Over Belgium, December 26th, 1989
Welcome to Belgian front ladies. The Reds caught us by surprise on November the 9th. First Gorbachev was found brutally murdered and second, the Berlin wall fell underneath the treads of T-80 tanks. We lost contact with Rammstein Airbase in the following week. Holland fell in the next. Thankfully, the French are barely managing to hold Ivan at bay. The Belgiums weren't so lucky. Belgium is a no-man's land. The line is drawn around the Vodka belt. If anyone could reverse this stalemate, it would be you guys. Now I know some of you are just out of basic and haven't even flown a real combat mission, but we need as many human shields pilots as we can get anyway. That is why it is very important for you to know your aircraft and know your role.

Right men, assemble to your squadrons, but before that, I'd like to see your paperwork.

Name: Your name
Rank: Your rank insignia
Service: From what NATO armed force are you. You're not a Red are you?
Callsign: Callsigns are usually earned but I think we can make an exception given the circumstances.
Primary Aircraft: What aircraft are you most familiar with? Aircraft available are specified in the Force Composition Analysis.
Secondary Aircraft (Optional): Your second most familiar aircraft.
Previous Squadron: (Optional): The squadron you were assigned to prior to your move this one.
Resume: Details any combat missions you have performed or any distinctions you may have been awarded, like say, a Purple Heart.

Force Composition Analysis
NATO Aircraft
Air Superiority - F-15C Eagle; The standard NATO air superiority fighter. Good range, flight time and armament. Too bad it sucks at dogfighting.
Interceptor - F-14B Tomcat; Can reach out and touch targets from over 200 km out. Ultimate standoff range fighter marred by an unreliable engine that shuts off when it over heats after too much AB. Not very manoeuvreable, and is gas guzzling reducing dogfight capabilities and mission time.
Multirole - F-16C/D Blk30 Fighting Falcon; Multirole fighter. Still, a bit on the small side but is capable of a wide range of missions from escort to armed reconnaissance.
Strike - F-4E Phantom II; Simply put, a massively fast flying bus. Poor manouevrability but is quite sturdy and is nuclear launch capable (Nuclear Falcon anyone?). This version has a gunpod built in as a last line of defence.
Close Air Support - F-4E Phantom II; Simply put, a massively fast flying bus. Poor manouevrability but is quite sturdy and is nuclear launch capable (Nuclear Falcon anyone?). This version has a gunpod built in as a last line of defence.
Reconaissance - MiG-28/F-5E Tiger's Eye; In a friend's words, "A s*** third-world country fighter." That is what the F-5E is at first glance. You can't put too much on such a delicate airframe but if in the right hands, could pull manouevres that you could hardly believe. Careful though, push too hard and the engines will literally fall off.
AWACS - E-3 Sentry; Your standard AWACS and that and that's all you need to know.

Soviet Aircraft
Air Superiority - Su-27S "Flanker-B"; The most manouevrable fighter in the air around these parts, so watch out if you engage in a dogfight since it will out manouevre and shoot you down. Be thankful it only uses a 30m cannon with a slow rate of fire. Otherwise, the main goal of this aircraft is to destroy AWACS and support craft. This could hamper the war effort and your survival so be sure to take them out as soon as possible.
Interceptor - MiG-25PD "Foxbat-E"; A simple yet functional design. It is capable of Mach 3 and above and is the Soviet interceptor. The MO behind it is simple, get close enough to shoot, fire, and leave the air space. Why? Because it is an extremely limited dogfighter with the same mission time problems as our own F-14s.
Multirole - MiG-29B "Fulcrum-A"; Born from the need to have a lightweight advanced tactical fighter, the MiG29, a nuclear capable frontline fighter entered service. It was meant as a support for the armoured advances, strike and support packages. Still, it is very much like Su-27 in manouevrability, even if its top speed suffers a bit from it.
Strike - Su-25 "Frogfoot"; An armoured airplane meant for close air support. Able to fly in low and strike while surviving ground small arms and missile fire. It's not very fast though so you might be able to tag one with a Sidewinder, even if it might only scratch the paint.
Close Air Support - Su-25 "Frogfoot"; An armoured airplane meant for close air support. Able to fly in low and strike while surviving ground small arms and missile fire. It's not very fast though so you might be able to tag one with a Sidewinder, even if it might only scratch the paint.
Reconaissance - MiG-25R "Foxbat-B"; A simple yet functional design. It is capable of Mach 3 and above though this is the recon variant. It is capable of zooming past in a blink of an eye while taking photos from its specially designed camera. These aircraft are more targets of opportunity than anything.
AWACS - A-50 "Mainstay"; The Soviet AWACS and that's all you'll need to know.

I hope others join... it would be boring if it were just us playing with our planes.

Awesome, I remember back when i wanted to be a pilot back as a kid. Too bad I would never make it past training. Also, being able to choose the Tomcat just makes my day.

I'll make one for fun.

Name: Hrafn "H-Bomb" Magnusson
Rank: OF-4, Wing Commander (guessing here, not too sure about how you want the ranks)
Service: Iceland (hur hur hur, it's a NATO country either way)
Callsign: "H-Bomb"
Primary Aircraft: F-14B Tomcat
Secondary Aircraft: (Optional): N/A
Previous Squadron: (Optional): Worked a short stint with the 85th Group
Resume: Flew several defense missions in the late 60s with the USAF. Was about to receive a Distinguished Service Medal when he ejected from his c*** to send his craft into a collision course with an enemy carrier during a simple test fight of an experimental jet gone wrong.

Whimmy, Iceland doesn't have an Air Force...

If we had two more, we could assemble a ad-hoc squadron that its supposed to be. Obviously I'll be participating. Also, does anyone need me to make a list of missiles/weapons that are available during that time?

That's the point.

But I can fix it if it displeases.

Ya, might as well list the weapons and compatibility for us so we don't accidentally choose something that's too far-fetched.

We could always fly in a Soviet Delta formation of three aircraft.

There you go. If you're US, that is.

Rank insignia for officers of all NATO countries. You gotta be an officer to fly.

Well for the weapon list I am still consulting with my resident military buff so I can complete the loadout of each aircraft without making it too horribly complicated.

Expect AIM-9s, AIM-54s, AIM-120s, AIM-7s, AGM-65s, and many many more.
