I particularly enjoyed X's battle system as well. It took what I loved about VII's (Limit Breaks), and turned them into overdrives. Not to mention in battle party switching, and controllable summons. Though I do particularly enjoy VII's battle system, not only for the nostalgia, but for the wait timer, and limit break combination. As much as many would love to disagree, I also loved X-2's battle system. The wait timer was there, added dress spheres and the way they move around the field made the gameplay feel so fresh. IX's was nice, being to only modern Final Fantasy to have the four party members, other than III on the DS i believe. Final Fantasy XIII's battle system is a lot harder to use, which is why I think many people turn a spiteful eye to it. When in reality, it's about reflexes and knowing what the crap you're doing. You can't just cast Ultima and Regen over and over to win a match. You have to truly take advantage of the Paradigms and different character resources. XII's gambit system was clunky and horrific. It felt too free, and boring. Not to mention a crazy difficulty spike when you get to the Leviathan, to save Ashe.

Yeah, IX is definitely a great game. I would highly suggest it.


Also, I just bought VIII on PSN. So now I own all of the modern Final Fantasy games besides garbage XII which I sold. I beat VII, so which should I go onto? VIII or IX?

IX I suppose

VIII first if you want to save the best for last, or the other way around if yuo like the best first.

IDK about VIII but IX has various references to IV and II(and to some others that I'm sure you'll catch, but the most obvious ones are to IV and II)

I think it looks great, the battle system looks really good and the story seems good from what I've read (Which I admit isn't much).

i have never played it but iv seen some videos of some of the cut scenes.

I just got Final fantasy 12. It's decent i guess. The battle system is better than 13's and it seems to have a more free roam feel to it than 13.

12 is by far the worst final fantasy, in my opinion.

I think your right, I still have only one person in my party and im like so confused. I just finished killing the tomato bounty thingy and now I have no idea where to go. I wen down to lowtown but idk where to go now.
