i've noticed Young Link actually uses the four swords... so really his name should be FS Link
Four Swords Link.
if you were trying to make toon link then your gonna have to make his final smash like Links.
But seriously, his name should be FS Link.
You should also allow to change the colour of young links suit, allowiing you to be able to use the other links from four swords.
But if u do let us use the different coloured links, make'em slightly different.
Red Link could be slower but more powerful
Blue Link could be quicker but not strong
Purple link could be excellent at making combos
And Green Link could just stay as he is

The name thing's been an issue for a while. He's actually Toon Link, not Young or Child Link.

I think the bottom idea is good, but I don't think the colors should mean anything. I understand that (Toon Link, Child Link, Young Link, w/e) should be played as different color variations, but the power buff/nerf and speed buff/nerf doesn't seem needed...

Then Mario's alt color of Fire Mario should do fire normals and fire based smash attacks.. Seriously... An alternate color should not have any special abilities or adjustments to it at all

We're not even planning to have alternate colors in the first place. It would be a waste of time that could be spent spriting more characters.
Also, as I recall, the four Links had absolutely no differences in Four Swords outside of their color.

Alternate colors don't need spriting at all.
Ever heard of game maker's color system?
You could easily convert one sprite's color into another through GML (Example: Green-red).
It won't affect the character's skin
