With the end of the year approaching, it's time to once again prepare ourselves for the McLeodGaming You Know What This Is You Saw The Subject Title 2016 Continuing the time-honored tradition of putting our favorite video games from the new year in a cage and giving them pointy sticks; if you have a favorite game of the year to share, this is the place and the time. Fortunately for the competition, there's no Undertale this year! Unfortunately for viewer interest, there's no Undertale this year. As before, we are now taking suggestions for categories. With just three nominations, anything can be contested, from the best soundtrack of 2016 to the biggest disappointment or even the best Souls-like. Maybe we'll even have a "reason to buy" category, but I doubt it; this year's been kind of a drought for exclusives. The PC port came out this year, and they added player feedback fixes and mod support.

Man, this has been a sad year for gaming.
I'm voting for... I don't know, Kirby Planet Robobot? I've barely played anything from this year so eh. Also the only major Nintendo titl this year that hasn't been a dissapointment. (Pokémon Sun/Moon haven't came out yet,, though, so who knows.) At the very least that's my vote for Nintendo games, I can't afford a PS4 cause I'm poor  |

I want to say the year's been pretty weak but pretty much the three biggest releases - Final Fantasy, The Last Guardian and Pokemon - haven't even been released yet
Also I haven't gotten around to playing Thumper yet but that doesn't stop me from being straight up offended you didn't include it in the OP |

Is Battlefield 1 really all that good in multiplayer? The only things I've heard about the multiplayer are poorly balanced classes and zeppelins exploding into glitchy fiery death rays.

^Well, I'm going off popularity here, since I've honestly never played it myself. If we're talking about it in a quality sense then I don't think it should make the category either.
Actually, you could change "Biggest Online Multiplayer Hit" into "Most Popular Shooter" and keep the nominees the same, that may be more befitting. _________________

The OP has been updated with some rudimentary award categories, and I've added several games to the list of releases, including some vitally important games such as Ace of Seafood and Bad Rats Show.
