Post count is kind of staple for forums, I think removing it would be silly.

I would like to add this to the discussion of post counts:

This guy shows only two posts at the moment, and I don't know what to think about that. If those are his only two posts on MG, then he's joined only for advertising his music. That's pretty s***, and we should let his thread die for that

But: It could also be that he's been posting in the SSF2 section as well. I have no idea, I don't go to that section. He might've made a hundred posts over the last year, and he's just starting to expand into other sections (which should be encouraged), but he still looks suspiciously like he just joined to advertise. (His join date says he joined yesterday, but that's not the point. Stick with me here)

I didn't notice his join date so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now I kind of wish I didn't, since I'm certain he's here for advertising. It would've been a lot easier to tell if I were able to just look at his post count and know for a fact that these are his only posts on MG.

I could have, but that's not the point. If posts in SSF2 were part of the post count, I'd have been able to tell at a glance. I'm not likely to search the posts of every user who seems "suspicious", and nobody else is either. We shouldn't have to.

There is no point in post count haha, it's only a tool for people who want gratification of how much free time they have.

But, because there is post count more people just post rediculous posts just for the sake of post count. If this feature was to be removed I'm preety sure it would narrow out the amount of post whores on the forums. But I could see how this could hurt you Kyuub, you got a preety large post number going on, not saying your a post whore or anything.

Personally, I'd like to see two things:
- post count to increase if posting is in the saf2 section (honestly makes sense)
- more strict moderation in the ssf2 section, regardless of if the above point happens (I typically see people posting in the wrong topics or posting things that don't add to topic discussions (things like petty fights that don't relate to the game or topic, and apology posts following those fights))

Just stuff I feel should be noticed

What I find annoying is that people find it necessary to announce "It's my 500th post!" and etc.

Since when have I made it a big thing getting 600 posts? I assure you I am currently not a post whore, as I have more important things to worry about instead of trying to get 10kposts.


Posts like this is the reason why post count should be removed, troll messages on a topic intended to discuss site suggestions. If post count was removed I'm preety sure you would have like 8000 less posts, and the forums would have a lot less post count driven posts.

And when you think about it, I used to discuss about ssf2 stage and characters with Pixelboy and the other ssf2 community so that's what you would call a contribution.
