While the wolf sprite looks pretty good, you really need to work on your alternate colours
it really does not look consistent with the shading of the original sprite and i looks like you made the alternate colours in ms paint in a couple of seconds. Heres an example of what i mean heres your red wolf  and heres the one i made  _________________  |

I think you should look up some tutorials if you haven't already, we have a topic full of good ones here on MG if you fancy a look. You make a couple of mistakes that you can overcome with some good practise and an in-depth tutorial on subjects like lineart (which looks too uneven in most places) and shading.

I think you should attempt tracing, it can give you some advice on how should the chracter look like in custom poses

Tracing should really only be used if you have no sense of how art works at all. Other than that it's really just blatant copying. Should be scrapped as soon as possible.

If you overuse it, definitely. In small doses it can be used to learn about a character; otherwise, imo tracing removes the point of pixel art, which is both for the looks, and having a lot of control |
