Hi everyone! While The Big Finish isnt completely done yet sadly, it is nonetheless time to look to our regular series. Ill start off with a few announcements:
1.) The Royale Court Rankings have been reset. This wil occur every year/season from now on, just in case anyone was wondering.
2.) The Ranking system has been updated. Instead of doing a Mario Kart-esque way of giving points, every single game will be scored from now on. Winning a match adds +1 to your tournament score, a loss adds -2 points. After the tourney is done, your points will be tallied and put into the Rankings.
Btw, if anyone was wondering about the name, its simply because second year, first tourney. The March tourney will be called Flash Royale 2.2. The same applies to the Hype! Royale series.
With that out of the way, here is the usual text:
Bracket: http://tsftournaments.challonge.com/Flash_Royale2_1IRC Chatroom: https://www.smashladder.com/netplay/Flash_RoyaleMake sure you are checked in both on Challonge and on IRC, otherwise you will be disqualified from the tournament. No exceptions.Ruleset:
* Match format is 4 Stocks and 8 Minutes. Matches played in a different format do not count. Period.
* Items are set to None and OFF.
* Hazards are set to OFF unless specifically stated otherwise in the Stagelist for a particular state.
* Dave´s Stupid Rule is in affect: You cannot counterpick you already won on in the same set.
* Gentleman´s Clause is NOT in affect.
* Latecomers will drop Game 1 after 10 minutes if they fail to show up despite having checked in. After 10 additional minutes, they will be expelled from the tournament. If you know you will be late, contact a TO and he may or may not make an exception for you. If you show up, but havent checked in, you may not participate as well. Period.
* Substitution Clause: You cannot switch in for another player that has been DQ´ed after Round 1 has ended, and not during a set. Only possible time is before Game 1, Round 1. Players with a bye are not affected by this rule.
* All sets are Best of 3. Top 8 will be played in a Best of 5 format.
* Kylos Clause: Missing Round 2 or beyond more than 10 minutes results in a DQ. Additionally, if a player´s IRC nick is different from his displayed name in the Bracket, they will be DQ´ed.
* Stalling is banned. This is defined as purposefully running away from a fight, abusing tethers, scrooging, planking non-stop etc. If your opponent is stalling, hand the replay to one of the TOs. Stalling is punished with the loss of the game. You cannot claim stalling after the next match in the set/the next round has begun.
* Stage Striking: Players strike stages in a 1-2-1 pattern. The player with the higher seed always begins striking, unless he allows the other player to strike first.
* Counterpicking: After Game 1 is over, the Winner may strike up to 3 stages. The Loser then declares the stage he wishes to play on. After that, the Winner declares whether or not he is changing characters, followed by the loser.
* FDS Clause: If a game ends up on Final Destination/Nintendo 3DS, the player who picked the stage will choose if the match is played on Final Destination or Nintendo 3DS. The same applies for Castle Siege and Jungle Hijinx.
* Don´t be a dick. This includes repeated insulting, trolling and not being a good sport in general. Doing otherwise will result in a DQ and a ban for the next tournament.
