You could try next time without bashing me as well, but i see you just dont want to, so lets just move on. :hmph:

I wonder if they will incorporate the use of the touch screen in either the 3DS version or on the WiiU's tablet? Though considering that Sakurai mentioned that motion controls would distract from the game, they may not use it, at least for things other than the menus and stuff.

There will be something something as an alternate control choice with the touch screen probably, like shake smash

They'll want to keep smash controllable with lots of controller types though, including that new normal looking controller for wii u, so it won't have any vital control function. They know how many people preferred the GC controller for brawl

Oh man, people are gonna be upset that they cant use the GC controller for this game. I do admit it was a useful controller for a game like this. I gave up the use of them though, cuz i knew they'd eventually be fazed out.

Actually do you think the idea that using the touch screen as the controller would be cool? I mean like putting buttons on the screen to press, that'd be kinda interesting, but not really necessary. Though id still like to see them try it.

they'll have swipe smash or whatever. I won't use it but it could be ok.

and the new controller (the black one) looks like a decent enough substitute for GC

I have never seen anyone be more wrong about smashbros' game design

What a s*** post.

If you think I'm wrong then by all means, argue with me. Don't dismiss people like a pretentious douchebag.

sorry you guys are right even tho half of melee's cast is still viable after 11 years each for totally different reasons

Wasn't that the game with two captain falcons, two foxes, two marios, two links, two marths, two pikachus and a handful of damn near useless characters?

If only half the cast is good, there's a problem.

Forget maticulously placing each hitbox on each frame and carefully fine tuning each stat to create literally the most intelligently designed characters in fighting game history JUST TAKE THEM FROM THE ORIGINAL GAME IT'S SO SIMPLE

You're missing the point entirely. Having the characters feel like they were pulled right out of their games adds a ton of charm to them; it's a lot of why I like Jak so much in Pasbr. Also good god why are you so upset?

kind sir I would like to politely suggest that you are wrong about everything you have said in this thread and also maybe stupid

So in other words, it's okay to be an a****** if you use words like "kind" and "politely"? Shove a cactus up your a**, and leave the f***' kid alone.

One flaw I found with this; you can never have too much Marth. ;)

Wow you didn't even read what I was replying to i guess. Gj removing the context when you quoted me though.

Also it kind of undermines your criticism of my rudeness when you tell me to put a cactus in my rectum in the same breath lol

Edit: sorry only saw Lucina's post, will stop

Who thinks that new IPs will be introduced into this game?

In some way for sure.

As playable it depends completely on what new ips they come out with. Right now there's basically only one candidate and he doesn't seem that likely to me.

no it wasn't that game doesn't exist
falcon and ganondorf are two completely different characters and if you don't agree then you've clearly never seen even close to high level smash play. fox and falco as well. you're closer on the mark with the marios and links, but even then they are really different characters and saying they were the same would imply that you've barely looked past the select screen in terms of comparing them.
Marth/Roy and Pikachu/Pichu I'm not even going to comment on because at the very most a child might initially think they're similar but i have trouble believing anyone would look at them as more than that

And no, you're retarded. Half the cast after 11 years is absolutely amazing, no other fighting game has that to its name. Why do you think they release a new street fighter every weekend? Any other game that has even come close to lasting a decade+ is at the stage competitively where there are two, maybe three characters that are even close to worth playing, and everyone else is garbage. Not only does Melee have competitively viable characters right down to the halfway mark on the tier list, but even the very bottom tier characters like Mewtwo and Young Link have players that soar and win competitions with them. If you think half the cast being viable after 11 years is a bad thing, you don't understand how fighting games work.

Well great and after the initial charm you have a character that doesn't translate well into a fighting game. It's exactly what thundaga was saying except he was applying it to the wrong thing. PSABR will be dead in a year, if that, unless they artificially preserve it with DLC which wouldn't surprise me. Melee on the other hand has had not a single rerelease or patch or update of any kind. The game that was released in 2001 is the exact same in every way as the game that is played competitively on a global scale 11 years later, because Sakurai knew that just porting characters over wasn't going to create a good metagame. He went for replayability over "charm" and he made the greatest fighting game ever, so I wouldn't even attempt to try and use PSABR as a comparison to prove your point.

EDIT: started typing this before geno posted i'm not deleting it

Quick question: Which Marth costume do you think is more likely to be used?
Marth A (Shin Monshou no Nazo):
Image

Or Marth B (Awakening DLC)?:
