My only issue is the price, a system more powerful that the Xbox/PS3 plus a 6" HD touch screen on the controller sounds quite pricey.

The controller might be based of a Nintendo Gamecube controller, in addition to the added features.

More or less, yeah.

The controller might be based of a Nintendo Gamecube controller, in addition to the added features.

It is obviously wireless, and it may be playable with Gamecube games as well.

Possibly motion controllable plus gyro similar to 3ds Wii like motion would be weird for a gamecube like controller.

If it has motion controls, it'll be more similar to the PS3's six-axis than anything.
If you want to play a Wii game on it, you'll need a Wiimote and Nunchuck.
