The US Senate will not pass a full climate bill in its current session, majority leader Harry Reid has said.

I don't think many people would have expected it to be easy anyway. Most Democrats are a right-wing bunch anyway.

Most politicians in America paint themselves as center-rights, whether Democrat or Republican.
But notice the deceptive wording: They won't pass a FULL form, meaning that they'll try to smash through Congress with their favorite amendments, and then save the rest for later (Like what they did with the recent health care reform).

They may try, but the conservative Democrats seem to be less than jolly to support it right now. I wonder whether they will in the future. There is no hope from the Republicans, who now are mostly voting to spite Democrats along party lines. Otherwise, liberal Republicans might have been happy to jump in.

The only reason that any Democrat will be against this bill is to save their own skin, but I predict most of them will rally in opposition (The health care bill was basically political suicide - I doubt very many of them would be willing to "take one for the team" a second time).
Most Democrats are trying to look as conservative as possible with their campaign ads. Remember, people in America aren't actually elected for what they've done so much as what they say.
