I still can't get over Kino's Journey. It left me wanting so much more. I don't know how to describe it, really. She would wander into a country, observed their culture, then leave... it felt so weird. She was always calm, nothing felt too odd, even is some of the situations bordered on paranormal, and it was always interesting. It was like a series of bed time stories with subtle symbolism and hidden moral lessons. It didn't try to teach us anything, nor did it even imply it. It merely presented the teachings and let us judge for ourselves what it wanted to tell us. Therefore, since it tried so hard to be nonchalant and succeeded, it's one of my favorite anime shows.
