There is no such thing as a Sakurai Troll, he does things that he plans out and just because it's what people don't expect doesn't mean he's trolling us.
They just did a direct a bit ago, but a more normal one would be nice since the last one was february. Plus there seems to be a lack of newcomer this month so far.

but yeah the "sakurai troll" things are pretty stupid. the only things he does are slight jokes and maybe the occasional jab (like the waluigi plush during the assist trophies in the direct) but a lot of the time they're immediately taken back

maybe palutena is the exception but he didn't say "oh maybe some other characters will be trophies" and showed a palutena trophy at an angle. he showed a pseudo-palutena trophy.

So you think he's going to have a totally unannounced direct? When last time he streamed something, he announced it three days in advance, and he announced the Smash Direct even earlier than that?

Plus if it's a Nintendo Direct that's something Sakurai has no control over

who do you think it might be? after the fire emblem one it's clear that there would be more than one character shown, 1 vet and 1 new at the least i'd think, but it's so hard to tell. i'd like to believe the "trophy theory" and get a zelda or metroid newcomer but theories aren't something to hope for.

A direct would more than likely show about 4-5 characters rather than three.
I wouldn't say Robin's trailer so much confirms there will be multiple characters revealed as opposed to the fact it CAN happen. Can =/= Will.

Although, I would really enjoy multiple characters to be shown. Nobody I want is gone, except maybe Dorf but I hardly even play Dorf anyways.

I'm guessing the reason G-dorf hasn't been shown yet is because he's had a drastic change in moveset.

Maybe he'll use moves inspired by Hyrule Warriors.

I pray that some form of Custom Robo would be in the game, but seeing as there is no assist trophy of one or trophy or stage yet i'm beginning to lose hope for ray 01 as a newcomer...

^ Although it wouldn't be impossible, but I'd say don't expect him to be changed at all. I'd hope he's the same as he is now but with some more differences here and there.

i doubt the hyrule warriors thing considering its status as a spinoff, but who knows.

i'd like something based on his trident or the sword in melee (he didn't have one in OOT, did he?)

Disablad? That's what it looks like to me. Also, Lucina doesn't look very Red alt-ish either. I'm not believing anything unless it's coming from PotDs/Sakurai or whenever I actually play the game.
