Oh, I thought you meant porting them over from a previous game. Yeah that's probably what will happen.

Yeah definitely. He'll want to make the characters look similar between the two versions.

Im hoping that the two versions will at least have some exclusive stages, we dont want both games to be exactly alike now. If they have the same roster thats fine, as well as it should. Would be nice if they had some exclusive items, songs, and event matches too.

Well I think he said somewhere that he wanted the 3DS to be aimed more towards single player gameplay, don't quote me on that, so I'm guessing there will be console-exclusive modes.

This may sound stupid to you, but I honestly think a good 3DS-exclusive wtf character would be... AR block! ...Or whatever the hell his name is. He could have a unique moveset based on the various AR games built into the system, and his taunts could be his poses on Star Pics. Besides, G&W was done and he's very similar while not nearly as new.
Nspec: Archery This will NOT be a clone of Link's bow. The distance, power and speed will be constant, and you could aim it up and down with... Up and down... and the angle could be represented by a crosshare similar to the crosshare in AR Archery.
Sspec: AR Shot A chargeable projectile attack utlizing a pool pole and a large pinball. When used, he gains the pole and the pinball appears in front of him, being about 3/4 the size of his body (he should be a smaller character). The longer you charge it, the more AR Block slowly pulls the pole backward... then when you release it, he thrusts it forward, pushing the ball forward with great force. The Pinball rolls forward, obeys gravity and does decent knockback and damage. The more the charge, the faster it rolls and the more knockback it does. At high charge, the ball pops up like Sonic's Brawl Sspec, and at full charge it doesn't even roll, acting like a soccer ball that was hit with a smash attack.
Dspec: Fishing AR Block places a large AR card on the ground beneath him. When an enemy touches it, they sink in like a pitfall and ripples appear around the enemy, as if they had fallen in water. This does not affect AR Block. If AR Block quickly uses DSpec again when nearby the AR card when an enemy is trapped within it, he tosses a fishing rod inside and hooks onto the enemy as if he was fishing, then quickly yanks the line upward with a bit of lag. When the enemy is at the peak of the line's vertical distance, they break free and are launched upward with high knockback. One AR card can be is on the field for one minute at a time. AR Block can only use this attack when an AR card that could be placed by him isn't already present on the stage.
Final Smash: The AR Dragon A giant AR card appears on the field, and one of three different dragons burst out of it.
YELLOW DRAGON- A giant Yellow dragon starts rampaging around the stage, breathing fire and biting at AR Block. AR Block can lure the dragon to attack other opponents, though he can still take damage from the dragon. After thirty seconds, the Dragon's segments turn to stone then explode one by one, dealing excellent knockback.
RED DRAGON- A Red dragon appears out on the field, drenching the lowest level of the stage in gradually raising lava. QR Block jumps vertically off the stage, then reappears in the front of the screen on a themed platform (think PKMN Trainer) with a pile of bombs to his right and a pool pole in his... "hand". He can shoot the bombs wherever he likes, but if he doesn't shoot the dragon twice in each segment in twenty seconds, the dragon reaches towards the screen and bites the bomb pile, killing himself along with AR Block. If he does, the dragon explodes in the same fashion as the yellow dragon.
BLUE DRAGON- The AR Card ripples like water, and a finned blue dragon thrusts out of the water. AR Block is shocked, and tosses his Fishing rod into the Dragon's mouth. He can slightly control where the beast thrashes his head by pulling against the dragon. Once the Dragon is pulled in the same direction for ten seconds straight, the dragon's segments explodes, dealing decent knockback and leaving just the head. AR Block then tosses the head on the end of the fishing rod to the opposite side of the screen, dealing excellent knockback to whoever he touches. If he can't subdue the dragon, after twenty seconds it breaks free and bites AR Block, dealing an OHKO to himself.
If multiple Final Smashes are given to each character as an option, have each one as their own individual final smash.

No Uspec? He could use the AR Card like a catapult or somthing. Plus, his name is Mr. AR. That would be cool, but it'll never happen. (PS I shortened cuz itwas really long) Also, i love how people think older characters aren't going to be here because they haven't appeared in a long time. Ever hear of Ice Climbers and MrGAW?

Maybe Graffiti as an Uspec? He could wrap himself into a large ball of rainbow scribbles and maybe some random sprites, then launch upward and crash to the ground (like Dedede, but with a rainbow explosion at the end) Anyway, I guess he wouldn't happen, but it WOULD be a cool inclusion IMO. As for the retro characters, either Sakurai or Miyamoto (I forget which) had stated in an interview that they would like to include as many retro characters as possible.

Pit was the same case in brawl. It would be nice to see some older characters be put into smash.

I hope they have exclusive content, but nothing from vs. mode. Same characters, same stages, same items. The other content can be different, but that needs to be the same on both versions. The worst thing in the world would be being in the middle of a Smash session and thinking "Huh, I really wish I could play with/on ______, but that's not in this version of this game. s***" The most I'll settle for is exclusive content being unlocked in the other version when you have both. But that would be kinda greedy on Sakurai's part

It's a brilliant business move. I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if that's what happened.

Brilliant, but still dickish. I wouldn't be happy about having to buy two games to play the whole thing, and I'm sure most of the gaming community wouldn't take kindly to it either.
I'd still do it, because I love Smash, but I suppose that makes me a fanboy more than anything else.
I wouldn't be surprised either.. but I would be a tad disappointed.

I'm very positive that both games will feel complete without the addition content from either console, but I do know what you mean. I'm buying both copies regardless. Fanboy all day.
