A couple days ago I fought against this guy online. I used Yoshi and he used Sonic. To my suprise he somehow managed to move so fast I wasn't able to hit him once.I don't know how he was moving that fast,he also was not moving fast he was attacking really fast, like i went to group to battle some CPU's to see what was going on.It just didn't work.I was spamming as hard as i could yet it was basically the same as if I didn't spam and it was nowhere near as fast as that guy was moving ------------------------------ Main:

Since SSF2 Online runs using your local files, and only the opponent's controls are sent over, I doubt anyone has a way to modify in-game character stats without causing a de-sync. He's probably just a pro who knows some sort of advanced maneuver.

Either you don't know that run exists, you finally got a lagless match, or the lightning special smash mode actually worked.
Here's what happens when you play online, (You) <-> (Server) <-> (Opponent) Every time you push a button, that one push of a button goes to the server, and then from the server to the opponent, and the other way around. Your game, is a box. The opponent's game is also a box. They are separate boxes. If the opponent changes his game, it does not affect your game. Let's say he changes his game to make Naruto have 7 jumps. Your game still has Naruto set to 2 jumps. The server does not allow anything to go you that is not a button push from the opponent and the other way around. Meaning if they try to play a game where Naruto has 7 jumps, on their screen they are jumping super high. On your screen, they are just jumping normally. This causes a desync, a desync happens when the information from both player's games doesn't match, when a desync happens the server terminates the game and immediately causes a No Contest.
In conclusion, hacking online matches is not possible unless both players have hacked their own game to be the exact same as the player's. What you saw happen was an illusion or a special mode actually working. Or something you don't understand yet like a certain move sonic has.

Lightning mode is Melee on crack, could possibly have been that. But hacking ain't possible so don't go cryin' hacker for this game.
