I actually have been making a hobby of making video game music, well arranging them from midi's, my best stuff has yet to be uploaded, most of what I have uploaded are what I call demos for what I can really do XD
I'm generally seen as super technical bass man but I don't think you can really hear any of that in this stuff I've done. I was sort of reluctant to post anything here because I know generally no one here likes me. They were only put on soundcloud so I could link them to a friend of mine.
Keep in mind a few things with these tracks. Immaculate Discharge was the first song I'd ever made in FL Studio and I think I did it on the second day of fiddling around. So I had no idea how to program drums or how to do anything really. I'd never recorded anything or mixed anything before so this is all me trying to pick it up within the span of a day or two. I also had no internet and I didn't go outside so I couldn't just look it up or ask people about anything. I based it of a bass part I came up with earlier that day and just tried sequencing it as a piano part, I guess it's in 10 but I treat it with the massive drum accents later on as if it's in 4 then 6. I think it gives it a nice swing. https://soundcloud.com/perpetually-meandering/immaculate-discharge
Roots and Fifths is just an electronic version of what I think is the first piano part I ever wrote down. Kind of an interesting melody, from memory I was messing around with diminished and augmented chords and s***. Also that weird squeaky noise at the start is me having a phone call with two phone and making them record each other to get a nice feedback loop then putting a laptop in the middle to record it with it's s*** built in microphone. WARNING: THE END IS ACTUALLY TERRIBLE SKIP IT PLEASE. It was like 5 in the morning when I made the ending and I basically just threw s*** at a wall then fell asleep a minute later and didn't listen to it again. https://soundcloud.com/perpetually-meandering/roots-and-fifths
My second time ever recording live instruments. I literally did all of them by putting them through a bass multi effects unit straight into audacity. The glockenspiel was just a microphone into the bass effects box and a blanket thrown over it to try and stop the white noise. It sounds like it'd be lo-fi but it's in that awkward inbetween sort of thing where it's definitely not studio but it's trying to sound good. I was only really interested in creative production so there's no equalizers or anything, just a lot of crazy stereo effects. https://soundcloud.com/perpetually-meandering/vitamin-squid-sufficient-1
