Fighting games give you a sense of progression and acomplishment when you git gud at them

Not giving you the choice to test out everybody and see who you want to dedicate your time towards getting good with from the start is really dumb and I don't see how anyone can deny that without resorting to "b-but unlocking things is fun!!"

Don't ask my why I used spoilers there I don't know now that I read it back but I'm on my phone so removing them is a pain

well there's another reason why characters should be unlockable
and that's that the game has a lot of content
new players would get lost with no direction
they need unlockable characters to give the game a sense of focus while you're still getting the hang of things

i mean most fighting games don't need unlockable characters because they aren't suffocatingly content-intensive like a smash bros game is

so unlockable characters is a mechanic made for casuals

TOMES takes 10 seconds to recharge. If you press vB while Nosferatu is recharging you'll restart the countdown, don't spam it.
LEVIN SWORD Can be used 8 times
GRABS are not affected by the number of Dark tome uses. That would be crap.
THUNDER tips You can use Thunder, Elthunder, Arcthunder and Thoron one after another but the next Elthunder or higher will break the tome. Thunder can be used 3 times.

If you're at the far opposite side of a stage, don't even bother trying to kill someone with his foward throw. Even at 800%. It can't kill character with Captain Falcon's weight when using it at the center of FD at 680% so just use his back throw if you want to kill.

For his Final Smash to work Chrom have to make a body contact, there's no hit box on the sword. You can hit someone behind you with it but they have to be right behind.

i unlocked all of both in like 2 days without even trying, since the roster and stage selection was p. great to start with

so yeah it's pretty easy

I like the way unlocking is done in this game

There is a sense of progression & unlocking things is fun but you can unlock everything fairly quickly, the unlock methods are simple and there's an absolute s*** of content available from the start

Seems like the best way to do it as far as I can tell. Unlocking some of the characters/stages in Melee/Brawl was just f*** tedious, especially if you have to do it more than once
