Yes, I have played SSBB, and Wario's "W" symbol was a excuse to let another Mario character in the Fray. Plus, their are 6 Pokemon Reps, and I'm sure nobody would be mad if they had more than 4 reps of a series.

If you're counting Wario as a Mario series rep, then you have to include Yoshi as well. So that'd be 6 Mario reps, 7 if you include Donkey Kong. And yes, DK can be considered a Mario character considering they both appeared in their first game together, and DK appears in many Mario spinoffs.
