Be aware that this series is rated 18+ and includes partial nudity, references to tabacco and drugs and violence. The Wolf Among Us is Telltale's newest multichapter adventure game based on the Fables series of comic books. The player assumes the role of Bigby Wolf, the reformed big bad wolf of legend, Fabletown's resident noir-styled sheriff/detective. When fellow fable 'Faith' is found murdered and beheaded on Bigby's doorstep, Bigby and Snow White set out to catch the killer. The residents of Fabletown become increasingly fed-up with the rule of mayor Crane, and Bigby has to protect them from eachother. The series serves as a prequel to the comic series, the game is enjoyable even if you are not familair with the Fables series (small summary for the interested; All characters from fairy tales, folklore and nursery rhyme alike are forced into excile from their own world ('the Homelands') by the mysterious 'Adversary' to a small enclave in New York. Inhuman fables have to purchase a spell known as 'glamour' to make them appear human so that the humans of 'our' world ('mundies') don't discover the fables. If they fail so or otherwise don't fit in they're send to an upstate rural area known as 'the farm' or thrown down the Witching Well). The game builds forth on the concepts and engine of the award-winning The Walking Dead games; Bibgy progresses by gathering various items and engaging in conversation and quick time events with other characters. Compared to The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us features a more vibrant colour pallet, and a comic-book styled shading technique, so I personally find it aesthetically more pleasing then previous Telltale entries. Compared to the earlier library of Telltale (games such as Strong Bad's Cool Game4Attractive People, The Poker Night, Puzzle Agent and Sam&Max) The Wolf Among Us is set in a grittier universe. Telltale's trademark sense of quirky humour has also been replaced by the themes surrounding the character of Bigby Wolf, such as redemption and romance. Similair to the Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us allows players to make key decisions during specific points in the game (for example, you can choose to gather more evidence and catch people in their lies to uncover the truth or simply hit it out of them), which will cause people to react different to Bigby Wolf in later chapters. This concept is describes by Telltale as 'being the final tailor of the story' and allows people to project their own personalies on the character (you want Bigby to be nice? You can make the nice choices etc.). During certain occasions you're given little time to decide, which means it's very likely that the choice you made reflects how you yourself would react in real life, it's really interesting. The character has a lot of room for expression and allows a lot of room for expression. I especially enjoyed the tense dynamic between Bigby and Snow White. However, the game is also plagued by minor glitches, similair to some of Telltale's recent entries (although nothing that breaks the game). Gameplay overall may appear repetetive, but each chapter offers a mix between quick-time events and investigation. You have to play the game for the story, not for the gameplay. The music of this game is handled by Telltale-staple Jared Emerson Johnson (Sam&Max, The Poker Night etc.). The music is subtle, but adds to the ambiance. It also includes a few throwbacks to previous games (you can hear the Sam&Max office theme in the Trip Trap Bar), which is neat for the Telltale Enthousiasts Among Us. I would highly recommand this game to anyone who enjoys a good detective story, dark fantasy or point-and-click adventure game. Telltale's agenda is pretty full with Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead Season Two and Tales of the Borderlands, so don't expect The Wolf Among Us to release a new chapter each month. Those that want to complete a game in one swoop may want to wait untill all 5 chapters are released. Trailer:

It's really great, twist at the end of episode 2 was pretty cool. Just wish they'd release one more than every few months, but I guess they're working on like 5 projects at the same time right now.

Are you saying you aren't hyped for the gripping narrative that will be Tales of the Borderlands?I've been following Two Best Friend Plays' videos on this. It's a really different series and I'm enjoying it.
Not really knocking Borderlands. Just doesn't really scream Telltale style to me.

I mean so long as they stay away from the meme s***, their Borderlands game will probably be really good. Really excited for their Game of Thrones game though

Hm, they pulled off Claptrap really well in Poker Night 2. I'm glad tosee that some people here have played the game. To anyone who has played it; who did you capture; Dee or the Woodsman?

Dee. Woodsman seemed like he was really telling the truth about being innocent and Dee is one shady f***.

I've played the game a couple of times to see what both Dee and the Woodsman would say, but to me it sounds like the Woodsman is just swept up in this. Dee on the other hand, actually has a motive to be involved with Faith's murder, considering she apparently stole something from her boss, 'The Crooked Man' (although I don't think that the Crooked Man has a motive for killing Lily)

I'm thinking Crane probably tried to frame the murder of Lilly on the same guy who killed Faith. That's why they were found dead the same way

Personally I think Crane is actually the one getting framed, although he does dislike trolls. He appears to dislike violence very much although this could be a mere act. Crane also has no motive to kill someone that he regulary.. 'saw'. Given the poor way Crane handled his majorship I can imagine that many Fables have a vendetta against him.

Idk why, but it only just dawned on me someone could have glamoured as Crane. So yeah it's probably not him. Doesn't explain why he's fleeing in the preview for the next episode though

Pretty sure he actually visits hookers glamoured like Snow White though (in episode 1 he tells Snow to call 'Vivian' because 'he will be early for his 'morning massage''. The bottle of wine he told Snow to purchase also appears in the appartement.), which is why he fled; because Bigby found out.
